No Straight Roads is a gem for the eye because of its creative design. The ability to personalize your characters and the different game modes give that little bit extra to the game. No Straight Roads is suitable for both beginners and those who want more of a challenge due to the optional difficulty settings. The ability to play the game in multiplayer modes is also a nice addition. Are you ready for innovation in a game? Then you're in the right place with No Straight Roads. The combination of hack-and-slash, RPG and music elements are well developed. If the dialogues had gotten more depth and the world made a bit bigger, the game would have been perfect.

Its rhythmic nature remains consistent throughout its entire duration, and bodes an unmatched blueprint within its own sub-genre. Its an odd flavour of musically infused mayhem that surely will be a conversation piece for years to come. No Straight Roads is awesome, and recommended for rhythm lovers.

No Straight Roads is an excellent experience that I encourage any lover of both music and gaming to have a look at. It’s not flawless, but it’s a darned good time.

No Straight Roads it has charming visuals, incredible soundtrack, good game mechanics and interesting challenges that make up this great game. Even if the show has certain problems and inconsistencies, the experience is highly recommended for fans of good music and a lot of hack and slash action.

No Straight Roads was really fun to play, for me and my friend. Metronomik’s first game, in my eyes, is a hit that blends so many unique and weird styles. I never felt bored playing this game and I think you won’t be either. Hopefully, if No Straight Roads is successful, we’ll see more titles not just from Metronomik but from other developers in parts of Eurasia not known for gaming.

No Straight Roads reminds us that we may not like some of the other voices around us but silencing them actually makes us weaker, not stronger and it would be better for any society to let everyone play their own tunes. These ideas are presented in a one of a kind audio and visual package but the simplicity of gameplay stops this title to become a truly great achievement all-around.

From the bright visuals to the hilarious dialogue and fun gameplay, as well as the option for couch co-op mode, it’s an easy pickup. While I, of course, had a few issues with the game, it’s all mostly forgiven with every quick and heavy whack of Mayday’s guitar.

No Straight Roads has a laundry list of inspirations and it proudly pays homage to them all in one way or another throughout the journey. Though a few of the game's ideas end up feeling underdeveloped, the game has a lot of heart, a slapping soundtrack and the best boss encounters you'll see in a videogame this year. Just like Bunk Bed Junction in Vinyl City, I expect Metronomik to chart well within the indie scene.

No Straight Roads is a good first effort for the Malaysian based Metronomic. It’s got a beautiful art style, catchy soundtrack, varied boss fights, and great voice acting. Some of the other parts of the gameplay like the exploration and regular combat fights feel a little underbaked.

Its soundtrack is potentially one of my favorites of the year, the writing is genuinely funny, and the character and boss designs are honestly top notch, but this is unfortunately not enough to counteract the many problems I have with how the gameplay itself pans out. There is a diamond trapped within this rock, and I truly hope the team at Metronomilk is able to polish it to the full potential that is so clearly there. For now, though, its problems are too hard for me to ignore and make what could be a great game into a game that's just alright.

No Straight Roads‘ premise is fantastic. I loved its setting, its soundtrack, and I really enjoyed its cast of characters, despite how freakishly weird Mayday looks. A game all about saving the world with the power of rock should be an easy win for me. If it wasn’t for its clunky combat and controls, as well as its tendency to bite way more than it can actually chew, No Straight Roads would have been one of the best surprises of the year.

Brash, rebellious, and certainly a bit silly, the two members of the band Bunk Bed Junction you take control of in No Straight Roads, Mayday and Zuke, are die hard rock musicians determined to help it come back to prominence in a world dominated by EDM and the crushing control of NSR and its collective of superstars...

No Straight Roads surprises with its insane yet attractive argument, its likeable protagonists and its eccentric bosses, in long and rich combtes. But it's too short, the difficulty is inconsistent and, in general terms, its gameplay is less solid than its presentation. A case of style over substance, even if it's worth it just for the music alone.

No Straight Roads has fantastic visuals, a phenomenal soundtrack, and lovable characters. It's a shame that the rest of the game doesn't hold up as well but I didn't regret my time with the game and will be replaying the boss fights many more times thanks to the fantastic music.

Despite its flaws, there are some interesting concepts, some clever boss and district design and an ultimate message of equality that’s been presented within; should we get a sequel, I hope more time is spent on a narrative and connective tissue that does the entire package justice.
