Atomic Heart Reviews
Atomic heart does a lot right, but some decisions just don't sit right.
Atomic Heart offers a solid and enjoyable experience with a unique setting and a great soundtrack. Although it has some issues with linearity and lack of brilliance, it has enough tricks up its sleeve to be a memorable experience of this year.

Atomic Heart has all the premises for a great game. That is why so frustrating that Mundifsh dropped the ball by trying to do too much, and botching up some gameplay mechanics, and also by releasing a game that desperately would have needed more time for fixing the bugs that poison the experience. And while the latter can be solved through patches, some peculiar game design choices and compromises take away from the overall value.
So, yeah, where do we even start with summing this one up? A recommendation depends on your own interest with the world of Atomic Heart, we must admit. The game's premise remains intriguing throughout, and its main missions provide some great combat scenarios to get stuck into, especially when it comes to using powers and the skill tree system to create character builds. Yet, the game's overworld is largely skippable which is a huge bummer, and its main storyline does little to enhance the incredibly interesting world Mundfish has created. Atomic Heart is well worth a play for the immersive FPS fanatics out there, but it's wise to temper your expectations when names like BioShock and DOOM are being thrown around in comparison. Atomic Heart is a solid alternate-history shooter, but it takes a bit more than building an intriguing world to become a true great in the genre.
Atomic Heart is a good game that buries itself in the shadow of great games. There's a lot of creativity, flair and intriguing design, but the game seems to lack confidence. This leaves the plot feeling a little halfhearted and some gameplay features feeling like they were there to check a box rather than actually add anything to the game. When Atomic Heart is on, it is on, but it spends too much time in the doldrums to keep it from truly reaching excellence.
Does Atomic heart live up to the hype around it? it completely depends on your expectations. While playing, there was only one thing on my mind, so much potential left unused or misused. Atomic heart is far from perfect, but when it comes to Combat, Visuals and entertainability, you won't be disappointed. Just remember that if narrative and character development is extremely important for you above everything else, you might get dissapointed.

An outstanding musical section that we cannot fail to highlight is the perfect companion to be able to say that we are facing one of the most outstanding games so far this year and that, without a doubt, should be a candidate for some other award when it comes to taking stock of this 2023. We have been disappointed by its open world and the treatment that is made of it, but it more than makes up for it with a magnificent interior level design, with little to envy to the big names in which it is inspired. Best of all, Atomic Heart comes out to Xbox Game Pass and if you are a subscriber of the service you can see for yourself everything we have been talking about. If you like unbridled action, it would be a crime for you to miss it, comrade.

Atomic Heart comes as a very good attempt to fill the void that exists at the present time in the side of narrative shooter games, such as Bioshock and Half-Life. The game presented an attractive world, a very interesting story, enjoyable gameplay, exciting action moments, and a very impressive technical level, but the game is hindered in reaching a great and legendary level. Things that could have been revealed better, but it seems that the game plans to shed more light on them through new parts or additions.

Atomic Heart practically joins the ranks of Bioshock and Wolfenstein and offers an equally interesting reimagining of the world in an alternate past. The game will guide us through this, while it very well combines storytelling, challenging action, crafting items and a lot of of puzzle elements and levels.

Atomic Heart has several fun elements that keep the player hooked from start until the end. Although it has some technical problems, they are passable in the face of the final work, which delivers much more than players expect. Diverse combat, lots of exploration and clever puzzles are just some of the points that make this game a must-have for PS5 owners.

Atomic Heart was made with love, talent and a great deal of cynic humor poured into the game.
Atomic Heart is a great title, with an interesting storyline, fun gameplay and spectacular atmosphere. Small sore points the difficulty in our opinion too high and the open world practically intuitive, flaws that however do not spoil the title that still remains of a great level. If we then add the presence at day one on game pass and the optimization on PC we can only recommend it.

Atomic Heart is a fun game showing a fascinating, well-built, visually impressive alternate world that handles everything it needs to do well. The action passages are significant, the abilities, weapons, and their use are fun, the difficulty is balanced, and it has excellent optimization so you can enjoy it smoothly even on older machines; the Russian dub is delightful, the English dub a little less so but still good, and Mick Gordon's impeccable soundtrack gets your adrenaline pumping whenever you need it. It's just a great action FPS with RPG elements. On the other hand, some animations and models are weaker, the picture tutorials are annoying, and the story is cliché. It's the first Bioshock, almost one-to-one, just in a Russian setting. However, this is balanced out by the awe-inspiring world it takes place in, which makes it sufficiently novel and original.

Even as the story of "Atomic Heart" fails to keep you engaged, it's well worth playing only to see what strange concepts and areas await.
Atomic Heart is an ambitious game that has a lot going for it. Its unique world, stunning visuals, and exciting combat make it an experience worth playing.
While I struggled with defining Atomic Heart's identity, I think I can assume a few things about the game. Narratively, it wants to be comical even with its tragedy, but the main plot bets on the drama behind the main character's past and their personal relationships; as well as predictable and empty plot twists. Despite the comparisons with Bioshock, it doesn't step too close to the atmosphere or even the combat of the classic title. It tries to be itself, even though the inspirations are noticeable. Although I was enamored with the first trailers of Atomic Heart and dreamt of that "beyond Bioshock" title, with several websites reporting on development problems and the successive delays made me wary of it. In the end, I still enjoyed the game for what it offered, even after losing its charm due to its frustrations and disappointments.

Atomic Heart is a game that constantly takes one step back for every two it takes forward. Everything that does extremely well always comes with a “but” stuck in it. Visually it is incredibly beautiful, but the characters are ugly. The third-person shooter gameplay is extremely fun, but the arena design is frustrating. The world and the story are quite interesting, but there's one more twist that doesn't make sense and the protagonist is obnoxious. Still, it's an experience with more significant highs than lows, and one that fans of first-person shooters can take a lot of pleasure from.

Its plot is quite atrocious, and much of the exploration aspect feels tacked on without adding anything. The larger length than most games of its type doesn’t help it hold up, either. While the heart inside Atomic Heart beats, it’s more often than not with a very weak pulse.
Atomic Heart is brilliant, well-intentioned, and yet flawed at the same time. Much like Dr. Sechenov. While I complained a fair bit about the gunplay and abilities, I was genuinely impressed with the enemies and bosses. On top of that, I walked away from the experience wanting to know more about the world of Atomic Heart. And finally, melee combat ended better than I expected. All these factors are enough to give the game a favorable outlook. If you’re in the market for an interesting FPS puzzle-solving experience, this might be what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for top-notch FPS action, you’d best look elsewhere.
Despite the technical issues, glitches and poor open area design, Atomic Heart delivered a unique experience with a distinct art direction, fun shooting system and puzzles, with great interior design.
