Easily the best toys-to-life game so far, with a great new gimmick that makes for one of the best family friendly titles this year.

Overall, Skylanders Superchargers is a very impressive package. Totting up how much extra content you get makes it very good value. Add to that the full backward compatibility support for all the previous figures, new online and racing modes and high end production value and it's a very tempting package. Superchargers is the moment we really see Skylanders deliver on its potential. It's not the cheapest game to play with your family but it delivers a huge amount of value.

Skylanders SuperChargers is hands-down one of the best kid-friendly games on the market, and the most complete realization of the "toys to life" genre to date. The variety of platforming and kart-based gameplay holds charm for gamers of all ages, and while you'll need to buy more vehicles to access the game's full spectrum of content, there's more value to be had in both the toys and the game this time around.

This isn't just another update to the Skylanders series, it's the moment the game properly comes of age both from the perspective of top notch gameplay as well as offering families exactly what they want in terms of value. Also, those amiibo-Skylanders are fantastic.

The latest chapter in the Skylanders series shows that this name still has a lot to offer. The amount of content and the adding of vehicles, as well as the presence of guest stars Donkey Kong and Bowser make this yet another significant entry in the series.

Skylanders: SuperChargers is just bursting with content, and fortunately, all of it is great fun. If you're invested in the series, SuperChargers is on par, if not better, than the best the series has offered in the past. If you're a newcomer, SuperChargers is a fantastic jumping-on point, as it has the lowest barrier of entry to see the majority of the content. As opposed to past games, which were filled with eight different elemental gates, the only gated story content is with sea and air vehicles. Even factoring out the sea and air segments, SuperChargers is still stellar. The Skylanders series is now into year five and as long as they keep being this entertaining, varied, and lively, then each one should still be worth playing, whether you're 7 or 27 years old.

'Skylanders SuperChargers' is that game that can make the toys to life concept feel exciting again. It can pull together different family members locally or online, and you better believe it will make players want to get a boat and plane to augment that vehicular fantasy. There is depth and variety, but some areas are much more polished than others. It's an obvious buy for existing fans, but the vehicle dynamic makes it a nice choice for anyone who might want to dip their toes.

Skylanders: Superchargers is a smorgasbord of gameplay and aesthetics, a much-improved romp through the toy-fueled world of Skylands. But at times it feels too hurried to allow you to enjoy the diversity of play and aesthetic it has on offer, leaving the game bordering on staccato, almost to a fault.

Skylanders: SuperChargers reinvigorates my interest in the series, and I'd go so far as to say that I wouldn't mind a full-on SuperChargers racing spin-off in the same vein as a proper Mario Kart game (note that the Wii and 3DS editions are racing games, essentially).

[My daughter] told me several times over the last week that this was her favourite toys-to-life game yet. And speaking as both a gamer and a parent I can't find much wrong with her reasoning. Skylanders SuperChargers has great toys and loads of fun stuff to do. Better still, it isn't (necessarily) going to break the bank. It gets my dad stamp of approval.

Even though some might be groaning at the cost of having to buy all new toys with it (relax, older ones work just fine as well), Skylanders SuperChargers still qualifies as one of the better games in the series to date. It's fun to play whether in a vehicle or running around, and it looks and sounds very nice for the most part. If your wallet is prepared, you'll have no problem reaching top speed with this one.

Skylanders SuperChargers is a fast-paced affair, never lingering in one spot for too long, always offering something new and fun to do. It's a great game to play with kids, and one grown ups shouldn't be ashamed to try.

The resulting creation is the best Skylanders game to date, and a strong competitor to all those upstarts. Even the new Skylander characters, who initially seem a bit over-designed, grow on you after a few hours of play. If you're going to invest a ridiculous amount of cash into games that link up with collectible figurines, you could do a lot worse than Superchargers.
