Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection Reviews
Classic Battlefronts were once great games, but it's been almost 20 years ago. And what was once considered cutting edge is now just a shallow and rather simple experience. The fun is still there, but it's still not something you can expect to spend the next few months with.

Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is an imperfect collection that still provides a good hit of nostalgia and fun for those looking for a simpler multiplayer escapade. Despite some issues like music dropout in the first game and bad respawning in both games, both games successfully deliver the idea of big, chaotic Star Wars battles without the modern "features" of experience creep and gacha boxes for upgrades. Online players are going to have a good time thanks to the absence of lag and the presence of 64-player battles with bots to fill the empty slots. Offline players will like the ample number of modes along with split-screen play. Unless you want to put in the work of implementing various mods to bring the older games up to speed, you're better off grabbing this package and diving in.
Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection brings all the action of Star Wars battles back to consoles. With the mission of being fun, the game has interesting single player campaigns, a Galactic Conquest mode with a pinch of strategy and a multiplayer filled with new maps. A collection made for long-time fans, but which also invites new ones to live one of the most entertaining experiences of the Star Wars saga.

Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is a window to a past centered on carefree, instant fun, but also a window to a present plagued by bugs and server issues. As things stand, it's worth buying only for singleplayer, where the collection showcases the best of what Pandemic's two games offered. Those interested in multiplayer might want to wait a few weeks, hoping Aspyr fixes the issues.

Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection is a beautiful return. Nostalgic, always charming, fun. The two games included in the package are true cornerstones of today's multiplayer shooters, and in this sense Aspyr's gimmick of opening the online servers is what, we hope, will highlight the operation and revive a community that has loved these classics for over a decade. We expect more operations of this kind in the future: Aspyr confirms itself as a safety, and long-time fans can only thank it, also for the launch price.

After hours and hours spent in this remastered release, my only complaint is that I don't have time to play it non-stop for the next week.
Certainly the games have its charms in setting its missions based on epic moments from the Star Wars Saga, looking aesthetically great, and being able to play as fan favorite Jedi. However, these wonderful things are quickly bogged down by a myriad of performance issues, outdated shooter gameplay and overall jank. Aspyr should have made the effort to make this 20 year old classic collection as modernized, as it is graphically enhanced.
It pains me to say this, as I've always had the first two Battlefronts in high esteem in my affective memory, but STAR WARS: Battlefront Classic Collection hardly makes an effort to go beyond an awful rerelease of two excellent games, especially for their time, but it definitely can't live up to the current days based only on nostalgia.

The sheer variety of options from vehicles to battlefield settings makes the release very compelling but naturally the previously mentioned bugs greatly detract from the expectations of the potential of the release. As it stands now; the collection comes across more as a work in progress that does show promise and hopefully will be given the attention and care that it needs to give fans the updated yet retro Star Wars experience they desire.
Don't buy this game – at least yet! Star Wars Battlefront – Classic Collection is a troubled remake of beloved shooter-games. Server-issues, bugs and other problems harm the overall experience and overshadow the otherwise solid retro-gameplay.

Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is a solid option if you want to relive some single-player nostalgia but outside of console availability, you can do this for less money already on PC.
Star Wars had never been as down in the dirt as it was in the Battlefront games, and it’s now time to do it all over again. Will you heed the call of duty?!
STAR WARS: Battlefront Classic Collection includes Aspyr's two new remasters of classic games from the Star Wars franchise. On this occasion, the chosen ones have been Star Wars Battlefront and Star Wars Battlefront II by Pandemic Studios, released in 2004 and 2005 respectively and which have reached all platforms surrounded by controversy, especially in the PC version where a poor online infrastructure has not supported the massive influx of players, and several bugs have been reported in all versions, although Aspyr has already solved many of them. The console versions have fared better and this is where this compilation really makes sense. If you are a Star Wars fan and you are going to play it on a console, don't miss it.

As it stands, the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection is nothing more than a shameless cash grab that will eat up your money and your hard drive space and spit out nothing but frustration and annoyance in return. While it may be patched into a somewhat playable state in the future, it's currently in a state that I couldn't recommend even at a deep discount.
Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection could have been an old-school treat, but a botched launch has made it hard to recommend to even the most die-hard of Star Wars fans. Don’t get me wrong, it has been a lot of fun to re-visit the single player modes and the technical improvements really do enhance the experience, but the issues that have plagued multiplayer are an absolute nightmare. Whilst it has been easier to get into matches since launch, the fact that they still bring with them a myriad of bugs really does sour the collection as a whole. I do believe that Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is going to be fixed over the coming weeks and the single player modes certainly offers enough enjoyable content to keep players busy, but if you’re hoping to re-live the multiplayer battles of yesteryear, you’ll want to hold off on purchasing for now. My score mostly reflects on the single player experience and the rare success I had with online play, but you can take two points off if you’re only interested in the multiplayer.
The STAR WARS Battlefront Classic Collection should have been a slam dunk but it has managed to somehow fumble on the one-yard line. For as amazing as these games are, this new updated version is riddled with issues from online being nearly unplayable, to major performance issues.
Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection revives two beloved multiplayer experiences for modern consoles. While both keep the gameplay feel and flow, this release is plagued with serious online issues that make this collection hard to recommend. The single-player content is exceptional and justifiable for purchase, but overall, the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection feels incomplete and messy.
Star Wars Battlefront Collection is a nostalgic blast from the past, but misses the mark with its included online mode. While it is worth a revisit, this is not the definitive way to play the classics.
Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection brings two great games back into the modern era. Packed full of content, all the DLC, online modes and a polished look, there should be little to go wrong here. But Aspyr messed things up with a disastrous online launch with too few servers, spongy controls and a lack of options from the original. Patch it Chewie!
