While I hope 1000xResist will inspire sequels, successors, or copycats, it certainly exists as a bright memory in my mind. A story that remains, and remains, and remains.

1000xResist is developer Sunset Visitor wearing its experiences on its sleeve, debuting a beautiful, heartfelt game with one of the best-written stories we've ever experienced. Switch port and minor gameplay issues aside, this stands as one of the most memorable games we've ever played. Confident in its convictions and empathetic with its words, 1000xResist is an important piece of art and a testament to the creativity of indie developers.

If you enjoy a good story that can make you laugh one minute, hold back tears the next, then audibly mumble “WTF?” right after that, do yourself a favor, and check out1000xRESIST. I’m incredibly impressed with Sunset Visitor’s ability to tell a story with its debut title. It’s one that will stick with me for a while, and I’ve already caught myself still thinking about it, despite having finished it a few days ago. I can’t wait to see what Sunset Visitor does next. Hekki ALLMO.

1000xResist is probably the best narrative experience I have had with a video game ever. Its incredibly impactful story is nuanced, complex, layered and most importantly, it actually has something to say, while asking you to reflect and wrestle with your own core principles and how you carry yourself through the world. It's unfortunate that its minor gameplay struggles bring the experience down enough to interrupt the pacing, but 1000xResist more than over delivers with a story that stays with you long after the credits roll. It is a must-play because it is a vulnerable, honest, and important work of art that everyone should experience.

At its very worst, 1000xRESIST manages to be “fine.” Its “worst” lasts about three minutes, and it is still ridiculously compelling all the while. At all other times, 1000xRESIST relentlessly operates at its best. It’s one of the best stories in the medium, one of the best games this year, and one of the best games I’ve ever played. It’s no coincidence that it was nominated for three IGF awards this year, with one of them being the grand prize—it’s an achievement, and every inch of it deserves to be celebrated. If this world is just, it will get the incredible fanfare that it spends every minute earning. It’s simply an astonishing debut from Sunset Visitor; I can’t wait to see what other stories they will grace us with in the future, what other experiences of theirs I will be this desperate to hold onto.

1000xRESIST is genuinely perfect for what it is. I cannot demand, but I can very strongly suggest with every fiber of my being, that if you love art in any and all of its forms then you owe it to yourself to play this title. I would suggest, however, that you find something lighter to play, read, listen to or watch after. It does have rough and extremely heavy subject matters, and even if you do love art, you might want to consider what subjects you are currently able to handle before you do. Once more, Hekki Grace, reader. I’ll see you on the other side.

Visually in particular, but also the trappings of the narrative adventure game that can get a tad repetitive over time without too many moments that shake up the gameplay. This all does not subtract from the astonishing writing and performances in 1000xRESIST and I urge those who are looking for boundary breaking storytelling to truly dive into this world blindly. It may even help you find the strength in these times to learn what it means to resist.

1000xRESISTgrabs players and does not let go, taking them through some impressive story moments and a few overly long conversations. The mix of post-apocalypse, clones, and memory exploration powers a narrative that’s unlike any other in the video game world. Speak with everyone and touch everything to get the most out of this universe.

I can easily recommend giving this game a try, especially if you enjoy narrative-driven titles like Life is Strange. Even though there are a few aspects that might hinder the experience, they’re minimal compared to everything the game does right. 1000xRESIST deserves to be experienced by as many people as possible, even more so thanks to its excellent Portuguese localization. It’s a beautiful, moving game that became a very special experience for me, so go ahead and give it a chance without hesitation.

1000xRESIST is an experience that delivers a memorable story with intriguing characters set in a unique science fiction universe, but its more passive, narrative-focused gameplay may turn some players away, even though it introduces interesting dynamics throughout the campaign.

1000xRESIST is a marvelous narrative-oriented videogame. Its minimalistic, sometimes slow gameplay is accompanied by one of the most engaging and well-crafted stories in modern gaming. Themes such as discrimination, rebellion to authorities and the pandemic are handled with utmost care and credibility.

Once again, it’s hard to really delve into 1000xResist without ruining the experience as the story is the main draw and driving force of the game throughout. It can get a bit confusing, and perhaps goes on a little too long at the conclusion, but all the same it is gripping and full of interesting twists and turns.

1000xResist is a masterpiece of sci-fi: maybe it does not take all the advantages it can from being a videogame, but it still does enough to be considered so and it's one of the best out there

With its fascinating and thought-provoking narrative, perceptive themes that prompt introspective reflection, and the surprising effect it has had on my personal perspective. This is a richly rewarding, intensely layered game that impressively highlights video games' capabilities as a viable and efficient medium for conveying complicated and mature narratives.

1000xRESIST has many layers, its peculiarities and the variety of genres it explores makes it difficult to classify it and put it in a specific box. Some might interpret it as an adventure, a walking simulator or even a visual novel. But at the end of the day, what remains is a unique narrative experience in one of the best-written games of the generation.
