The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Reviews
Dungeons return to a quality we haven't seen in more than ten years and the musical presentation is excellent. Performance while consistently hitting 30 frames-per-second strains fruitlessly for 60. But ultimately Echoes of Wisdom excellently weaves itself into the grand tapestry of Zelda with surprising originality while being careful never to trample on what has come before.
There’s a unique thrill to playing as Zelda: Sorcerer Supreme, but some hours into Echoes of Wisdom, especially the more that Zelda conjures bigger and badder creatures to smite her enemies, it still leaves the player wondering when, exactly, we get to play as Zelda: The Hero of Time. Nintendo remains a market leader in giving players what they didn’t know they needed rather than what they adamantly wanted, and Echoes of Wisdom is an excellent showcase for why that is, but it’s hard to shake just how many of Zelda’s problems could be solved just by letting her have a sword and an ocarina in the first place.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom may not star Link, but it is on par with many of those classics. The echoes system is another demonstration of the franchise's ability to craft engaging gimmicks. While it may be underserved by the system's dated tech, Nintendo has once again delivered a creative entry in one of their flagship series.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is an utterly enthralling breath of fresh air for the Zelda franchise. Straying away from swordplay and quadrupling down on puzzles, magic, and monster summons is exactly what these games needed after decades of Link’s games adhering to a strict template.
The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a great new entry in the Zelda franchise and shows that the team still have a lot of interesting ideas and the ability to make a game that is just pure joy to play. I love that Zelda is a series that offers up quality entries that offer very different experiences, while still playing off each other and feeling like legitimate entries into the franchise and not just cash-in spin offs.
Zelda’s official debut at the helm of her own franchise is a delight to play and explore, with creative, challenging, and highly accessible gameplay, making The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom a fantastic new entry point to the legendary saga.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom flips the script, putting the fate of Hyrule on Princess Zelda's shoulders. While the game offers a vast world to explore with charming visuals and music, it suffers from repetitive gameplay elements, as many challenges can be overcome with the same few Echoes, though it still provides enjoyable moments of creativity and discovery.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom defies expectations, offering a fresh take on the series by giving Princess Zelda the spotlight in a captivating adventure, making it one of Nintendo's best surprises this year.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is another triumph for Nintendo, an essential game on the Switch, which is absolutely unmissable.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a surprisingly substantial top-down Zelda with the slap-things together puzzle-solving spirit of Tears of the Kingdom, though its new ideas sometimes get in the way of the fun.
Echoes of Wisdom successfully maintains a high standard after the monumental Tears of the Kingdom. This chapter masterfully blends innovation with a nod to classic gameplay, creating an evolution that keeps players engaged. With its strengths and weaknesses, it reminds us that the joy of playing is paramount, and Nintendo’s latest experiment delivers on that promise once again.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a wonderful first (no, CD-i doesn't count) outing for the titular princess. It's at once nostalgic and brand new, combining classic Zelda gameplay with the flexibility and freedom of the modern styles. It's a genuine delight from start to finish, with the only real complaints revolving around the fact that the performance hasn't improved from the last game that was developed on the same game engine. If you're a fan of Zelda, Echoes of Wisdom is a must-play.
The latest Legend of Zelda game on the Switch puts the titular princess in the lead role for the first time for an experience that’s both refreshing and familiar.
With The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Nintendo's long-running saga masterfully combines the most classic gameplay style with the freedom of action of the latest installments. It offers many hours of fun for the whole family in a highly finished product that will be a pleasure to play and enjoy from start to finish.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a triumph of both style and storytelling. Princess Zelda feels like a true protagonist and doesn't simply "take Link's place" in the adventure. The creativity of the "Echoes" system is wonderfully done for the most part, and most will definitely want a new adventure of this nature in the future.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom encourages creativity and freedom of choice within the more limited scope of 2D games, with Zelda taking the lead role. It's a great fusion of what works and what's new, highlighting the franchise's ability to reinvent itself without ignoring its past. Here's to praying for the future that this will be just the first of many adventures in which the princess is the titular and true owner of the legend.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom blends puzzle-solving, platforming and combat with brilliant creativity in a game that feels both nostalgic and wholly innovative for the franchise.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is much more than just another game in the franchise. It marks the beginning of what could be significantly explored by the company. A stunning side-scrolling game that redefines many established concepts, featuring a splendid visual style already showcased in Link’s Awakening and further enhanced here. The game delivers fluidity in its narrative, entertains with the charm of its newest protagonist, and shows great potential to continue other stories that could involve her. Zelda demonstrated that heroes can fight with wisdom and mastery, and can excite and move players with that.
