The creators’ respect for the genre is clear in all aspects of the final product. For veteran gamers and horror aficionados, this game will be a wonderful trip down memory lane. Post Trauma is available on platforms.
Post Trauma is an interesting experiment in the horror genre that tries to bring back classic gameplay styles to a modern age. Despite this, there are still strange puzzles to deal with, and the first-person segments feel counter-productive to the excellent atmosphere created by fixed camera angles.
Red Souls Games should be proud of releasing their debut title; there is no doubt about that. But as a game striving to honour the paragons of survival horror, Post Trauma significantly falls short. Its astounding art direction and captivating music create an unnervingly eerie atmosphere that will stick with you well after the game's conclusion. But Post Trauma's muddled and borderline incoherent story, flat characters, frustratingly difficult puzzles, and incredibly easy gameplay, where the stakes are never felt, are a real disservice to what is a clear love letter to horror.
Fans of classic survival horror will find this modern take on the genre partially satisfying. However, the content is largely unoriginal, and the uncomfortable camerawork is off-putting.

Post Trauma tries to bring back the horror of the 90s in a mix with the current. However, the way it was done made the game generic and without identity. Although it is not terrible, it is not worth the investment.

Post Trauma is a return to the roots of the survival horror genre, immersing the player in a dark, puzzling world that captivates from the very first second. The game knows how to utilize the strengths of classic survival horror titles and package them in a modern, yet nostalgic experience. The atmosphere is intense and the puzzles challenging. The game therefore offers exactly what long-time fans of the genre want. Of course, there are minor weaknesses, such as the less spectacular battles or the stiff animations of the protagonist, but these hardly spoil the overall experience. For the price of 15 euros, you get a solid, albeit short, experience that you can definitely play a second time. At a time when the big survival horror franchises are becoming increasingly action-packed, Post Trauma is a welcome change. It reminds us of the golden era of the genre, when the real horror wasn't in the bloody battles, but in the atmosphere, the puzzles and the constant sense of threat. Anyone longing for this experience will find exactly that with Post Trauma: an all-round nostalgia trip that brings the dark corners of the genre back to life.

I wanted to like Post Trauma more than I did. A survival horror game that emphasises exploration and puzzle solving in a desolate world sounds like it should have been a good time. However, a weak plot and lacklustre combat make Post Trauma an uneven game that would be tough to recommend if it weren’t for its incredibly reasonable asking price. Though you could also always wait for a midyear sale if you want to…
Puzzles are a divisive element in many Survival Horror games. When you need to justify and expand game time for an experience mostly driven by vibes and avoiding awkward combat, what else can you do? Clearly, one easy answer is to add backtracking in order to sniff out keys and doohickeys to fit into mysterious slots powering absurd door-locking mechanisms. It works for Resident Evil, at least. But there’s a balance in making this stuff actually work. A balance the subject of today’s review struggled with, to say the least.
Post Trauma is a great, enjoyable, albeit short survival horror game. The environments, settings and characters all do their part to offer an unnerving experience. The fixed camera is a welcome addition and throwback to classic gaming. Despite its flaws; lack of map, backtracking, questionable voiceover and sometimes clunky movement, Post Trauma is a fun and creepy experience. I strongly recommend playing this little gem, whether you’re a long time fan of the genre or looking to dip your toes.
At a budget price point, it’s easy to forgive the rough edges, especially if you’re craving that old-school feeling of dread and discovery. If you can tolerate some frustrating boss fights and uneven polish, there’s a lot to admire here — and Red Soul Games are absolutely a team to watch for the future.
Post Trauma is a solid homage to classic survival horror games, largely thanks to its puzzle design, fixed camera angles, and combat style. However, visual bugs, clunky animations, odd design choices, and poor optimization on PC end up undermining the experience.

Post Trauma may stumble when it comes to storytelling and combat, but its eerie atmosphere, enjoyable puzzling, and old-school charm keep it compelling. For fans of classic survival horror, it’s a flawed but fascinating throwback that knows exactly what it wants to be, with its clever puzzles, unsettling world, and traditional fixed-camera presentation certainly evoking memories of some of my favourite survival horror experiences from my younger years. Add to that the low price-point and it’s definitely worth taking a look at if you’re eager for that classic survival horror buzz.
Post Trauma succeeds in crafting a world that feels oppressive, broken, and painfully human. It stumbles with its combat and some narrative clarity, but its emotional core, the exploration of guilt, forgiveness, and the fight for redemption, is solid.
Post Trauma offers a nostalgic journey through classic survival horror, but doesn’t quite manage to recapture the magic of its inspirations. The atmosphere and sound design provide an immersive experience, but the gameplay often feels cumbersome, and the story leaves much to be desired. While it hits the right notes for horror enthusiasts, it occasionally stumbles in execution. It’s an enjoyable ride for those seeking a taste of PS2-era horror, but it’s far from perfect.
Post Trauma by Red Soul Games is a rough yet promising debut that modernizes classic fixed-camera gameplay well, despite clunky controls, frustrating combat, and some design missteps—but with a few patches, this could easily go from good to great.

Post Trauma is a game that pays tribute to great classics from past generations without losing its originality, featuring very challenging puzzles and a focus on exploration rather than combat and chases. The game boasts an impeccable atmosphere, but it may disappoint with its rather confusing story.
