Final Fantasy Tactics - The Ivalice Chronicles Reviews
Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles has finally made one of the best games ever accessible to nearly every audience. The addition of an amazing voice cast along with updated visuals has allowed this classic to level up, but these improvements aren’t even necessary for it to remain relevant. If you’ve never played Final Fantasy Tactics then I urge you to get The Ivalice Chronicles.
Even in the menu-filled, occasionally tedious realm of party management, Final Fantasy Tactics asserts its core belief: that the course of history is molded not just by generational events of upheaval, but by the choices we make in every passing second. We define the future with every moment we spend tending to the needs of our allies and spurning our oppressors, every insistence on the promise of something better.
Final Fantasy Tactics remains a masterpiece: that's an undeniable fact. It began a successful lineage of tactical JRPGs that led us all the way to—to take a look at this in our own home—products like Mario + Rabbids. That masterpiece, however, remains anchored to gameplay and visual logic dating back three decades, with all the pros and cons that entails. Those who decided to rehabilitate Ramza 30 years ago will be eager to retrace that journey; those who, however, want to immerse themselves in the magic of Ivalice for the first time may find themselves faced with the obstacle of time. We still recommend new players give it a try, because Final Fantasy Tactics remains an essential part of the medium's history, a knowledge of which is a prerequisite for the last 20 years of the tactics genre.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles improves upon the original in nearly every way. It truly is the ultimate version of Final Fantasy Tactics, and an amazing adventure from start to finish.
Final Fantasy Tactics is back in this brand new remaster that not only refines the experience for a modern palette, but also makes one of the best SRPGs out there easy for players to enjoy again.
Final Fantasy Tactics - The Ivalice Chronicles reaffirms the timeless strength of the classic. It serves as a fantastic gateway for newcomers, but may leave returning fans might be left wanting more.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is almost a tale of two games; the original holds up extremely well gameplay-wise, while is obviously let down by its dated graphics, while the remaster feels almost like a new game with its quality of life improvements. This definitely isn’t a half-baked package and is well worth it for original fans and newcomers alike - with the depth of the tactical RPG system that Square built many years ago, you’ll be obsessing over the best way to win a battle even when you’re not playing.
Nearly three decades later, Final Fantasy Tactics still stands tall as the pinnacle of tactical RPG design. The Ivalice Chronicles refines its strengths with modern updates, even if a few minor flaws hold it back from perfection.
One of the best games ever made with a story that has the potential to inspire and change lives.
Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles proves that the original game is still a strong video game. Adding voice acting makes it almost a whole different experience.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is a deftly rebuilt iteration of a foundational title-making a must-play RPG easier than ever to enjoy.
I reckon this Tactics remaster is one of the few games I'll come back to each year just to re-fill my cup and remind myself how good this kind of gaming can be.
A very good voice over (both in english and japanese) and a few quality of life improvements are not enough for The Ivalice Chronicles to gain the title of the best version of Final Fantasy Tactics, that remains steadily in the hands of the War of the Lions on PSP. Still, this is a faithful and very convenient way to experience of the best turn-based JRPG ever.

A tough-as-nails tactical RPG that will have you emotionally invested like few others in the genre, this well-voiced and sharpened remaster puts Final Fantasy's grandest mediaeval political tale in its deserved spotlight.
Final Fantasy Tactics is a legendary game, and possibly, if not the greatest strategy RPG to ever exist. It’s sad to say, but it deserved way better than this. There’s rumors of a potential sequel that may happen but if Creative Studio III is behind it, I worry about its direction.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is the best version of one of the greatest video games. This review was largely pointless in the sense that just about everyone knows that it’s a masterpiece, and yet, as of time of writing, there are “only” 2,500 user reviews on Steam. For the love of Hatsune Miku, please don’t let this be a “cult classic” a second time around. If we’re going to ever take video games seriously as an art form, it needs to start with games like this being part of the canon.
Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles is not just an enhanced version of the original, it’s the best way to experience what’s been considered the best tactical RPG of all time. The addition of a revised script and fully voiced dialog makes a very big difference.
It’s a Remaster that elevates the king of tactical RPGs, Final Fantasy Tactics, to new heights with its improvements—reinforcing its throne and making it even more enjoyable than it was on day one. If only it also included the PSP content…
