Denshattack! is one of those experiences that reminds us why video games are so special. A concept like this, with such creative ideas and such an unusual blend of elements, could hardly exist in any other medium. It is a unique, fun, and completely unconventional adventure. Whether you are a fan of skateboarding games or simply someone looking for innovative and surprising experiences, Denshattack! is one of the must-play games of 2026.

Irreverent, unpredictable, funny, and unputdownable, Denshattack! is anti-capitalist, pop-punk optimism distilled.

Hitting the track and chaining tricks together in Denshattack is a joy, and a constant stream of new ideas means its excellent anime-inspired campaign never runs out of steam.

Denshattack is an inconsistent spectacle that fails to make good use of its chosen themes.

Denshattack is one of the fiercest, fastest, and most lovable games I’ve played in quite some time.

Denshattack is weird as hell, and it leans into its strange premise with earned confidence, constantly building and layering on its ideas throughout.

Denshattack! is a trick-based game from the Tony Hawk school of design, except literally on rails.

Denshattack! is an effective homage to Sega's Dreamcast era without feeling too derivative. Using a train, of all things, to pull off insane tricks to increase your score sounds utterly ridiculous on paper, but it all works very well. It's the kind of gameplay that invites you to play it again and again to perfect your runs and earn those lofty gold medals. It's just a shame that the core hook is surrounded by needless fluff that bloats the overall experience. Yes, you can skip most of it, but Denshattack! would have shone even brighter had the devs leaned further into its arcade-style inspirations. Still, it's well worth a punt for its gameplay alone, and there's a strong foundation here to spawn an even better sequel in the future.

Denshattack! may not have the most highbrow story in the world, but you know what it does have? F-U-N, FUN. High-speed, high-flying FUN of the highest caliber.

Denshattack! is one of those surprises that justifies keeping an eye on what this small, courageous studio is doing. What sounds like a one-off joke on paper turns out to be an arcade game with such a distinct identity and such meticulous design that it's hard to believe there isn't a huge team behind it.

Perhaps that's the real reason why Denshattack! hits with such force. You can feel in every pixel that its creators were having a blast developing it and that no one ever held back.

Its incredibly fast-paced, unbridled nature might not be for everyone and the story it spins mightn’t be anything too special, yet for players craving a different flavour of score-chasing magic that is well-equipped to reward their mastery of a pretty odd, made-up sport, Denshattack! is off-the-rails in all the best ways.

Denshattack! is a wholly unique experience. It stands out, looking like a wacky anime bus racing game, but calling it a racing game doesn’t even begin to cover its mechanics.

Denshattack! is a triumph of a game, and manages to take inspiration and turn it into something far greater. A ridiculous premise is given the weight it deserves, ending with a game I can't help but love. While it might not scratch the itch of a 'true' arcade skater game, what is here is fantastic by its own merits. I only felt the game start to creak towards the very end, and I can't fault that when the concept was so obviously at the core of the vision. Nothing feels like fluff, everything is fantastic.

Denshattack is a blast. While it may present a steep learning curve at the beginning, its unique, arcadey gameplay rewards skill and quick thinking in a way that feels old school and fresh at the same time. From its silly, train-tricking premise through its challenging, fast-paced action and colourful presentation, it's a cohesive game that delivers big fun at every turn in the track.
