The Blood of Dawnwalker Reviews
The Blood Of The Dawnwalker is an absolute treat for fans of deep, atmospheric vampire RPGs who can look past the rough technical state of the Xbox Series S version. If you love tense directional combat, rich investigation mechanics, and a world packed with secrets, the sheer depth here easily outweighs the performance bumps. It is a must-play game!

For a debut, The Blood of Dawnwalker is remarkably ambitious. The story rivals the genre’s best, the time mechanic reinvents how an open world can feel, and the vampire power fantasy delivers exactly what it promises. It’s held back by a camera that fights you and an enemy roster that runs out of ideas early, but Rebel Wolves has built something worth paying attention to, and I’ll be first in line for whatever comes next.
The painful part is I really wanted to love The Blood of Dawnwalker, not have this lukewarm emotion towards it. The best aspects of the game are so unique compared to everything else out there and, with enough commitment, are very fun to play. It’s the other side of that coin that muddies the water. That great combat has to contend with technical hiccups, and those are the only things where maybe I would feel differently. Progression is the best example of how great Ideas just keep having minor directional choices hold them back profusely. There is a series here; developer Rebel Wolves has a great concept here that works when it works but doesn’t when it doesn’t.
The Blood of Dawnwalker particularly impressed us with its dark atmosphere, vast open world, and compelling duality between human and creature. The Witcher’s influence can certainly be felt, but the game manages to carve out an identity of its own thanks to its 30-day system, meaningful choices, and nighttime transformation. Despite an occasionally confusing interface and a few graphical and technical issues that can break immersion, the overall experience remains highly compelling. With a higher level of polish, The Blood of Dawnwalker could have set the bar even higher.

There is just so much to this world, to this story, and I am so impressed that Rebel Wolves was able to tell such an intriguing story within it. Being able to blend vampires, religion, and witchcraft together while also having great written characters for all of this it so impressive. Not being afraid of putting unique mechanics into a game that could scare off some players I absolutely applaud. The Blood of Dawnwalker is a masterclass in keeping to a theme, a setting, and idea, and it’s absolutely one of the best RPGs I’ve played not only this year, but ever.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is gripping right from the get-go. A well-paced, emotionally charged story, a unique and fleshed out time mechanic, and a dark, fascinating world all combine to make something genuinely brilliant. If you have any interest in RPGs, you absolutely must check this one out. Arguably one of the best games I’ve played this gen. Therefore, The Blood of Dawnwalker earns a rare, well-deserved Thumb Culture Platinum Award!
The Blood of Dawnwalker is a passion-driven RPG from former CD Projekt RED talent. Despite a few minor technical issues that are easily fixable with updates, Rebel Wolves has crafted a rare experience: a role-playing game that truly respects your choices, your time, and the way you build your hero.

Sangora stands out through its decaying art direction, excellent sound design and an atmosphere that changes dramatically between day and night. The Blood of Dawnwalker has technical imperfections, but its narrative and distinctive use of time successfully separate it from other RPGs.

The Blood of Dawn walker is a beautifully dark world, with a refreshing freedom in how your story is told and a rather unique method of becoming a vampire. It is a true successor to both the Witcher and Vampyr, and a perfect choice for fans of either.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is undoubtedly my biggest surprise of the year. Not only did I not have high expectations for this game, but I actually wrote it off as a failure from the start. Despite all that, I decided to give it a chance, and I absolutely don’t regret it. I managed to finish the whole thing in exactly 40 hours, and I already know that I’ll be returning to the Vale Sangora many times in the future. It’s a great RPG that pulls you in like quicksand. Its unique approach to gameplay, the constantly stressful time-pass mechanics, a superbly written story, phenomenal characters, stunning audiovisuals, and a strongly felt Slavic atmosphere are among its greatest strengths. It’s all the more disappointing that the game doesn’t quite live up to the same high standard when it comes to combat, controls, and camera work.

The Blood of Dawnwalker still has a few rough edges, but its blend of storytelling, time management and vampirism gives it a distinct identity.

The Blood of Dawnwalker offers a genuinely interesting approach to both time and choice that makes it difficult to put down.
“The Blood of Dawnwalker” is a game that does everything well. Whatever it mixes together, it does so with flair.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is not perfect, but it's a really great RPG you have to play. When the credits roll, it doesn't demand a replay, you desire it. Bugs and technical issues on PC really hold it back from being more, but it's still one of my favorites of the year. It's well-written, with an interesting world, and fun systems to sink your teeth into. Rebel Wolves has made a memorable and earnest game, and I'm genuinely excited for the sequels that are already planned. Simply put, The Blood of Dawnwalker has stakes, and unlike vampires, doesn't suck.
Drawing inspiration from various video games while also following its own philosophy, *The Blood of Dawnwalker* stands out as one of the most interesting open-world RPGs of recent years. It isn't perfect, but it offers an adventure unlike few others in the genre.

In some ways, The Blood of Dawnwalker feels a bit old-school in its design, but once we settled into its rhythm, we found a satisfying, if slightly clunky RPG that is well worth a recommendation from us. The time limit means we can’t be the all-in-one hero, and there’s a story here that…ahem..sank it’s fangs into us early on.
Despite its severe optimization issues, the courage to create mechanics that challenge modern industry standards honors the legacy of its main influences. The Blood of Dawnwalker stakes its claim among the great open-world RPGs.

For a debut project, Rebel Wolves aimed high—very high. Perhaps a little too high, even, given the numerous technical issues. Still, I consider The Blood of Dawnwalker to be an exceptional RPG with an intriguing storyline. One of its greatest strengths is the vast freedom of action it offers, to the point where an adventure that would normally take about ten hours can easily stretch to three times that length, depending on how much you want to explore. To get the most out of the game, it’s best not to overthink things and just go with the flow. Little by little, minor quests turn into major events, leading, among other things, to duels against Brencis’s generals. The combat and loot system is also very enjoyable, with great responsiveness, despite a limited roster of enemies. Unfortunately, the whole experience is weighed down by technical execution that lacks polish and a few missed opportunities in terms of consequences. If you’re willing to overlook a technically uneven game, *The Blood of Dawnwalker* should be a treat—even more so if you enjoy the vampire theme, which is very well executed here. When it comes to vampires, gaming has been a little short on options lately. So, if you’ve been looking for a great vampire-themed RPG since the days of the underrated Vampyr, you absolutely shouldn’t miss The Blood of Dawnwalker. Hell, you shouldn’t miss it if you love RPGs in general, because it’s an engaging, well-written game packed with compelling stories and memorable characters.
