Rime captures the essence of adventure through its mysterious locale's various paths, inviting visuals, and well-designed puzzles, but it also seeks to use its gameplay mechanics as a storytelling device. While variety isn't strong throughout its run, the world created offers an experience that—at least for one playthrough—is worth taking.
Rime is a game about loss. Rime is a game about grief. Rime is a game that I'm not ashamed to say made me cry. It's a beautiful journey and doesn't seek to simply entertain, but rather to touch the player's soul on a deeply emotional level through engagement and interaction. On the surface Rime is a great looking adventure full of puzzles set in a mysterious and living environment. At its core, Rime is something so much more. By weaving stunning art and engaging gameplay with a brutally emotional narrative, Rime blurs the line between touching the heart and entertaining the player in a way that few games have truly achieved.
At its core, "Rime," is really nothing more and nothing less than an opportunity to roam around a beautiful environment and work through its strange logic.

Rime is a pleasant title that's extremely easy on the eyes, and perhaps a little too easy on the brain.
Rime has the potential to be so much more than it actually is. It's got stunning presentation, an intriguing world, and some neat ideas. However, all of this is overshadowed by the more mundane puzzles and glaring technical issues that come with it. While Rime may well have looked to some of the modern greats for inspiration, it'll struggle to be remembered for half as long.
It wants to be more of a three-dimensional museum, one that carefully categorizes emotions, than a game.
Rime is definitely not a game for everyone, but it does teach a lesson that everyone should be able to appreciate if given the chance. The literal act of playing the game is rife with minor frustrations and short bouts of boredom, but as a sum of its parts it's a memorable journey I won't soon forget.
As games of this type go, RiME is among the best, its picturesque world one you'll want to spend time in and return to once the narrative has run its course. A stunning, dreamlike experience.
Rime it's not a perfect game by any means, but rather an emotional delight. Without technical problems and kind of weak design, it would be true piece of art.

Rime explores a profoundly melancholic story and plays on the wanderlust we naturally feel as gamers. We're spoiled with how many engrossing worlds and intelligent subtexts have made their way into the medium and Tequila Works have delivered on both fronts.
RiME is exactly the game I like to slowly work my way through.
There is no other way to say it, but RiME has certainly surprised me, in its ambitious narrative approach, enjoyable environmental puzzles and stunning visual/audio combination. The journey lasted much longer than I was expecting, roughly six to eight hours depending on your playstyle. Seeking out the collectibles is the main reason to explore the game multiple times.
RiME is the rare game that balances its spectacle and whimsy with a dose of quiet humanity.
By design the game portion comes first, providing an evocative experience where discovery feels earned and the pacing is spot on. The meaning comes later, at the very end in fact, but in a way that enhances everything that has comes before it. And in the process, leaves both a lasting impression and a cathartic sense of closure once you solve the biggest puzzle in the game -- its meaning.
RIME leaves such an impression that it is hard to hold its failings against it too much. It manages to live up to the years of hype and expectation, and it delivers an unforgettable experience along the way.
This lovely-looking indie adventure game exhibits a wonderful sense of imagination and artistry and makes up for any shortcomings with a satisfying journey full of heart
I initially mentioned my affinity for games like Ico and Journey earlier in order to quickly paint a picture in the reader's mind of what kind of game Rime is. Using comparisons is a simple, if somewhat lazy, way to easily convey a genre or narrative direction of a game, and, much like those games are their own entities, Rime shares as much in common with those titles as it does its own thing.

RiME is an intense game about grief and loss. It combines the exploration with puzzles in a very clever way. Tequila Works' game is an unforgettable experience that will gonna move a lot of people.
