Aegis Defenders takes two genres I like on their own and blends them together to create a memorable and fun experience that absolutely shines in co-op.

An enjoyable experience featuring light RPG mechanics, platforming and tower defense all in a single game. Aegis Defenders is a must have for fans of the genre.

In the end, Aegis Defenders proves to be a solid title with appealing visuals and well-established mechanics. More gripping on its co-op mode, this twelve-hours campaign can be a harsh journey if you try to fulfill it on your own.

One part co-op adventure (that you can play by yourself), one part puzzle-solving journey, and many parts Tower Defense game, Aegis Defenders balances a lot of things, and it gets most of it right.

Aegis Defenders tries to provide a great experience with its pixel art visuals and tower defense mechanisms, and although some parts of gameplay are not polished enough, solid tower defense experience alone will worth your time.

With great art and an interesting idea at its core, Aegis Defenders still would have needed quite a bit more refinement to really stand out.

I had a lot of fun with Aegis Defenders. I really liked the action platforming elements of the game, but what surprised me the most were tower defense sections. Setting up my defenses and planning for an attack is very fun, creating a unique and cohesive experience I wasn't expecting. Play this game on PS4 right now since it has a lot of fun to offer.

In conclusion, you already know what I’m going to say, Aegis Defenders is a genre mashup that works excellently. The transition between exploring, building and defending is seamless and it all fits together so well. It provides a solid challenging campaign that can be played by yourself or with a friend and either way, you’re going to have an exciting, super tense time. It’s wonderful looks and accompanying soundtrack make it one great little package for a decent price. Sure, it is a little overwhelming by the half way point and I think the friendly AI could have been programmed to back you up a little better but it’s still doable and if you like a really well-made challenge, you’ve got it right here.
