While its core story might not have the emotional punch of the original, Unravel Two improves upon the original in every other respect. The platforming is more responsive and demanding, while the puzzles are far more inventive and satisfying to solve, which is largely due to the excellent implementation of a second character and co-op.

If you're looking for a game to enjoy with the people you care about, I'm happy to recommend Unravel 2. It's an agreeable, friendly, sometimes challenging world that encourages us to be the best version of ourselves.

I don't regret having played this, but I do wish it was better. I love playing co-op games and I was excited by the idea of this minimalist platformer giving me an experience to bond over. Sadly, we both we pretty much in agreement on the final outcome. Unravel Two just doesn't quite have what it takes to be special.

Unravel Two is everything a sequel should be. It stays true to the original but adds co-op which allows you to play and experiment together as you find your path through the beautiful environments. Unravel was already a very enjoyable game, but with co-op feeling as natural in this game as it does, Unravel Two is a delightful playground for fans of puzzle platformers.

Unravel Two follows the path of its amazing prequel and turns out to be a true piece of art. A game that thanks to its artistic and level design manages to entertain and move the player.

Unravel Two lands on Switch losing a little bit of its visual quality, but gaining the possibility of share its gameplay in any place and moment (portátable mode included). It doesn't have new content, so if you played it when it was launched last year, you won't find anything new. It's the very same charming platform game with physics puzzles..

Unravel Two offers the same formula, a mix between plataform and puzzle games, but now you can enjoy in local coop. It's that enough for a sequel? Maybe for some, but if you played the original, you'll feel that it's a little bit more of the same, that there is not much new at all. Even the graphics feels very similar...

Overall, Unravel 2 is an adequate follow up to 2016's indie darling. It hosts a plethora of new puzzles that force players to think, but without making them go mad. Too many checkpoints may turn off players looking for a genuine challenge, though. The all new dynamic of co-op really gives a jolt of energy to this game; Without that new component I'm afraid Unravel 2 would've just felt like a level expansion. Those that really dug the first Unravel will love what its sequel has to offer.

Unravel Two is a good platform game, full of puzzles, sometimes to easy. The atmosphere is dreamy, but the first chapter was more fresh.

A good port of an alread good coop platformer that doesn't do anything new, nor anything but despite being kind of short.

Unravel Two is a quick journey, but one that does its predecessor justice.

If you enjoyed the original it's certainly worth going back for more, but there's not enough for returning players that weren't enamoured by its predecessor.

Cooperative gameplay and challenge levels seems to have led to a lack of charm in this follow-up.

Unravel Two was already a wonderful little game, filled with heartfelt moments of poignant storytelling and challenging platforming puzzles, and now it has a fitting new home on Nintendo Switch. Even with a few downgrades to the visuals, Unravel Two is far from an inferior experience when played on Nintendo's hybrid system. Full of charm and character, it's one of the best co-operative platformers you can play anywhere, and another robust Switch port that was well worth the wait.

Unravel Two is a standup performance by developer Coldwood Interactive, improving on the original in nearly every way. Whether you have a friend to play with or not, Unravel Two is one of the finest puzzle platformers and couch co-op games in 2018. Though not everything is quite as manageable in single-player as in the main campaign and the narrative is lacking, my five hours with Yarny still had the same wonder as the original title — just with much better mechanics.

It somewhat goes without saying, but Unravel Two feels like the organic evolution of the franchise. The introduction of cooperative mechanics proved to be just enough change to keep things fresh, while still preserving what made the original so special. Weaving the matured puzzle design in amongst the already stunning art style produces a visual patchwork quilt that is unlike anything else on the market. If you can set aside the odd storytelling decisions and the occasional platforming quirk, Yarny's newest quest is one you won't want to miss.

For a game where you play as an adorable yarn doll, it does an admirable job setting up a touching narrative intertwined with clever and unique puzzle platforming. And if you have a friend to play with, then Unravel Two is a treat in the visuals and the gameplay.
