Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a strange attempt to create Destiny from a popular tactical shooter. A game has sufficient amount of the original mechanics, but drowning in bugs, weak story and terrible optimisation of the final product. If some of the bugs will be fixed sooner or later with patches, the empty world, boring missions and the lack of normal tactics will remain here forever.

A pile of ideas that are not connected to each other. Ubisoft had an opportunity to produce a perfect sequel to Wildlands, but instead they created something disconcerted and not even remotely fun.

All of that has been done away with, replaced by a nauseating terrine of pointless progression mechanics, baffling interface decisions, and clunky controls, fermented in a formaldehyde cocktail of technical issues. This game is agonizingly bad.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint it's a decent open world, full of the bad ghosts of the Ghost Recon past

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a confused hodgepodge of disparate ideas that rarely come together in an enjoyable way.

With a lack of direction and filled with bugs, Ghost Recon Breakpint is a mess of a game. Don't buy this.

There are plenty of military engagements in Breakpoint, but none of them are particularly engaging.

Breakpoint wants to be game for everyone, but it does not work. The world is big, but gameplay is eventless.

While I liked this far more than Wildlands it still has a fair way to go before it's as entertaining to play as some of the other shooters out there. It needed more going on; more variety and more spontaneity to take it up a notch and push it towards being an essential purchase. In its current state, it's just not "there" yet.

Early missions in Ubisoft's latest Ghost Recon open-world shooter seem impossible, and it barely gets better from there

There's a good chance that the game will improve in the next few months or a year, and at that point, players can easily jump into the game and enjoy the hell out of it. At launch, however, Breakpoint makes sense if you want to get into a looter shooter that isn't full of fantastical weaponry or you aren't playing The Division 2 anymore.

In it's core, Ghost Recon Breakpoint has a lot of potential to be a great open world game. Sadly, thanks to a list of reasons, the game doesn't deliver on that promise. The open world looks beautiful, but feels kind of empty. The new mechanics are funny, but a bit forced most of the time. Also, the list of technical problems is far longer than should be, right after launch. It just doesn't feel as polished as should be, right after launch.

There is no doubt in my mind that six months from now Breakpoint will be a more playable game. Ubisoft Paris will iron out the bugs, bring back AI teammates, concede to player demands on some design, and tweak the experience to be more playable. However, this is the Breakpoint that was offered up on release, and it’s a mess.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint should be the breaking point for Ubisoft's open world design by committee. There's an entertaining experience buried somewhere under the bloat and I had some fun at times in the game – I love infiltrating bases, but everything surrounding that is a pain. Maybe, just maybe, not every game needs to be open world? Maybe not every game needs a gear score? Sometimes simplicity is key.

Though Ghost Recon Breakpoint starts off strong by throwing you in a dangerous, beautiful, and dense world, it quickly shows its hand and ends up being a repetitive let-down.

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint has a solid foundation, but is let down by poor design choices and braindead easy gameplay.

If you can look past the flaws, it can be a fun title that evokes a similar reaction as Wildlands.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint puts the 'tactical' in Tactical Shooter but fails to otherwise stand out in nearly every other regard.

I've had fun playing Breakpoint, but to do so I've had to just accept the flaws and push through them. The constant flow of loot and the shooting tick my boxes, but everything good seems to come at a cost.

At its heart Breakpoint is a good open-world shooter, that is plagued by numerous problems and questionable mechanics.
