Greedfall is not an RPG that is intended to play the leading roles of the genre. Limited as well by its technique, its fights and its relatively remote progression, although intriguing and therefore fascinating, the title still has a beautiful soul, shaped by its universe, its artistic direction, its writing, its themes, its music . So many attractive arguments that counterbalance its weaknesses, making Greedfall a game that can not be recommended to the greatest number but deserves attention to at least judge the effect of its charms.

Thanks to GreedFall's impressively diverse roleplaying and combat systems, it's the sort of game that any sort of RPG fan would enjoy, whether they prefer playing as the tough warrior, the cunning rogue, the wise spellcaster, or any combination of those archetypes they can think of. It may hew closely to the template that BioWare created many years ago, but GreedFall also proves there's still a lot of potential for expansive single-player RPGs that put player choice first.

It’ll no doubt be right up the street of Bioware fans and De Sardet’s journey is certainly a fun one, but Greedfall is unremarkable in a few key ways.
If you’re looking for an in-depth RPG that lets you make choices in a seldom seen world with both muskets and magic, then GreedFall is right up your alley.
Greedfall's next-gen update undoubtedly makes it more beautiful to see, and in some ways also to play, but it does not change the imperfect DNA that did not allow it to shine at launch, and that continues to clip its wings even now, two years later.

Greedfall is blemished but imaginative and choice-filled gem that harkens back to some of our favorite western RPGs.
GreedFall slaps together a beautiful map, complex quests, good decision making, an in-depth setting and a really cool storyline with good character building. There are some technical issues and a surprisingly dull beginning – don't let them discourage you!

Greedfall is the kind of game where you really need to be into the story to be able to look past its faults and still enjoy it.
Anyway, Greedfall is an average action RPG offering lots of quests and a competent combat system. While the game's pace is quite slow and the graphics aren't great, there's still lots of hours of gameplay on offer here for genre fans to sink their teeth into.
It feels like Spiders is on the verge of greatness. The narrative is strong, and the world-building is quite remarkable, but the execution isn't quite ready for prime time.
GreedFall does nothing exceedingly harmful in terms of gameplay and its BioWare-esque elements had me enjoying the time I spent playing it. This title is certainly a step in the right direction for Spiders, and I hope that they continue to improve from here. Spiders is an RPG developer with a lot of potential that could very well take BioWare’s WRPG crown one day.
Greedfall, even with its flaws, is a game that’s very easy to sink time into without regret.
GreedFall is a welcome arrival in the fantasy RPG space, a space that has been bafflingly uncrowded of late. But it doesn't just impress because of a lack of alternatives. It successfully delivers nearly everything that one would want to see in a game of this genre, and does so in convincing fashion. Fans of western role playing games who have lamented the absence of many true contenders in the genre this generation, prepare yourselves: a new heir to the legacy of BioWare is here at last.
Simple at first, but much like the underlying story Greedfall's combat comes alive once skill trees begin to fill up.
While occasionally caving under the weight of its ambition, Greedfall delivers a world worth exploring inhabited by characters and stories just as memorable.
Greedfall is a very rewarding experience. Just make sure to give it some time and get used to it's style of gameplay. It can be a bit rough around the edges but that does not detract from its deep dialogue system and good storytelling. Most RPG fans will love Greedfall, its a good game and it may even surprise a few people along the way.
Even though Greedfall it's Spiders best work to date, that doesn't mean it is a flawless action RPG: its quest system and settings are its standouts, but clunky combat and too much repetition are obvious weak points.

Loot, shoot, cast magic, melee and slay strange creatures in the mysterious island of Teer Fradee. If you enjoy making plenty of choices from narrative decisions to combat builds you'll enjoy your time in GreedFall. While it doesn't do anything ground breaking, this title will offer you a decent storyline, a number of playstyles and the option to choose your party. For those looking for a well-polished title, they may want to look elsewhere, but Spiders has created plenty to experience with many of hours of gameplay. Even after 20 hours you will find there is still a lot to discover.
