Bleeding Edge has a solid foundation as a melee-focused multiplayer action game that tries to appeal to the masses, but it is a bit short on content, and has a few notable issues that need resolving. Within such a highly competitive genre, hopefully changes arrive sooner rather than later, if the game is to have a shot at longevity.

Bleeding Edge is a solid hero brawler that currently lacks content badly. While the foundations of this hack-and-slash arena brawler are strong and the roster of misfit circus rejects is absolutely stellar, there aren't enough reasons to play beyond the first few hours. Still, every match of Bleeding Edge I've played has been enjoyable and fiercely competitive, and if they can retain their player base I'll happily return to Ninja Theory's latest chaotic playground.

Bleeding Edge is currently a very raw game, a failed experiment and a free fantasy of a small group of people who for some reason were given the green light. A small number of main types of gaming activities, poor content and technical problems outweigh the bright characters with unique abilities, nice graphics and a pleasant soundtrack. However, the positive thing is that Bleeding Edge is unlikely to affect the really big next game from Ninja Theory, which we will all continue to wait for.

Bleeding Edge doesn’t really do much right. In a game where the melee combat is supposed to be its bread and butter, Bleeding Edge’s is clunky and unsatisfying. With only two game modes at the time of this review, it doesn’t leave a lot of room for variety between each match and you’ll quickly find yourself in a cycle of rinsing and repeating until you’re left wanting more and not being offered anything else.

Melee weapon combat system feels good and intense. Beside that, the number of heroes makes the game relatively content light, and the PvP matchmaking is problomatic and frustrating.

Bleeding Edge is a complex and fun take on the Hero-Based genre. The combat in this game is the main attraction, the way you have to make a combo out of your attacks and abilities makes fighting enemies a blast. The maps design is great (although the size of some maps is an issue) and the heroes have incredible and detailed design and their unique and innovative abilities make the game more appealing and fun. Both visually and design-wise, the game looks great and Ninja Theory should definitely thank their design team. Unfortunately, though, Bleeding Edge lacks content, The quantity of the maps are low and right now there is only one Quick Play mode for playing. Also, there are some balancing issues between Support and Core heroes which should get addressed and some of the maps are too big for a 4v4. Overall, if Ninja Theory decides to continue supporting this game, Bleeding Edge could become one of those hot multiplayer games that everybody plays

Bleeding Edge is a surprisingly enjoyable, fun and originally styled online experience. Although its approach may initially seem too simplistic in the formula, in reality the game of Ninja Theory hides a deep and well-kept gameplay that, to be mastered, needs time and training.

Ninja Theory debuts within the stream of competitive multiplayer titles with a game which has some gameplay mechanics that are convincing enough to shine on their own, but whose light goes off as you think more about what might become than what already it is.

All in all, Bleeding Edge on Xbox One is just pure fun. It’s a tight, fast thrill-ride that keeps me playing which, as someone who predominantly plays single-player, is not easy to do. While it certainly isn’t what some fans of Ninja Theory may be expecting, it is still a great first collaboration from what will likely be one of Xbox Game Studios’ finest teams.

With memorable characters and fast-paced combat, Ninja Theory's new game Bleeding Edge is a promising new entry in its genre. The only question is: will it hold up against the fierce competition, or fall short of the mark set by others?

Bleeding Edge is a fun 4-v-4 brawler and best played with a team of friends. You’ll have a blast while it lasts, but what it offers in wildly interesting characters designs, it’s lacking in longevity.

Bleeding Edge has a lot of charm and fun to offer, but doesn't do a great job making a case for itself over other games in the genre; which may hurt it in the long run.

Lackluster cosmetics are the least of Bleeding Edge’s problems. Ninja Theory may have succeeded in creating a cast of distinct, well-crafted characters that are full of personality, but it stumbled in making an engrossing game around that diverse roster.

The attention to detail, great soundtrack, and largely well-designed characters belie a game that is clearly loved by those that worked on it, but the crippling lack of depth in every area of Bleeding Edge has made what should have been an excellent game a mediocre one instead. I hope Ninja Theory is given the opportunity to expand on the game, but right now Bleeding Edge is fun but forgettable filler.

It often feels a little undercooked but the emphasis on teamplay and some very unusual characters offers an enjoyable alternative to other online multiplayer games.

At its core, a unique brawler game that is held back from reaching its full potential by repetitive gameplay and a lack of features that in 2020 should absolutely be standard, at launch, for any game trying to squeeze into the crowded multiplayer game market
