Disintegration is a different and fun game when it comes to mashing two genres together. While the story may be mediocre, it’s characters keep you invested to see the mission through. It’s a shame that load-outs are handed to you and do not promote build diversity, but the gameplay is still a blast
Disintegration held a lot of potential, and while its gravcycle is novel, the rest of the package doesn’t live up to the strategy it promises.

Disintegration is a shooting game with some RTS gameplay mechanics. It has 12 campaign missions and 3 PVP game modes (5v5) with various cosmetics options. Most of the gameplay you will be shooting enemies, targeting crews' special attacks, and collecting loot boxes. You play as a GRAVCYCLE (flying hover motorcycle) PILOT that fights and commands a ground crew. The "FLYING" DEFINES a lot of the gameplay experience. It is required a good view distance to manage the crew, which reminds the viewing perspective of an RTS game. Being far away from combat, naturally makes it LESS INTENSE than an FPS game. And... as there is an FPS character and vehicle to control, crew mechanics can't be as complex as RTS games.
With the multiplayer being DOA on PS4, at least, the game is left feeling oddly hallow at launch, but there’s enough campaign and replayability to hold the attention of players for 15-30 hours as you max out your squads level, abilities and track down each chapters secrets.
There are a few sparks of a great game hidden deep within Disintegration. Sadly, none of those sparks ever manage to catch fire.
All in all, this feels like a game made for a very specific type of player, which is a rare thing these days. Either it clicks, or it doesn’t. As for me, it ended up being one of the most unique and enjoyable games I’ve played in a long while.
All in all, I’d say the multiplayer was fun and adds more unique gameplay elements the campaign was lacking. The only thing that holds Disintegration back is the lackluster story and repetitive combat. The game promises free and paid DLC content in the future, and hopefully that will improve the experience overall.
In one word, Disintegration is empty. It presents a new interesting concept but the novelty goes away very fast with linear and repetitive missions, between poor executed story beats.

Disintegration aims high, but it doesn’t quite hit the right points. There’s fun to be had in this shooter/strategy hybrid, but you’ll have to survive unbalanced combat, a poorly explained narrative and some occasionally unreliable AI teammates to get there.
Disintegration presents itself as solid mix out of real time strategy and a sci-fi-egoshooter but doesn't offer much besides this bold gameplay experiment. V1 Interactive did a tremendous job but the limitations of such a small studio are pretty clearly visible in nearly every part of the single and multiplayer.

Disintegration offers a mid-level gaming experience with poor story presentation below my expectations and unfulfilled gameplay of the RTS part of the game. The multiplayer part, which has a great potential, is spent due to the low number of customization options and low number of players.

There is much to like about this game. It’s a unique experience that few big studios are willing to take. Perhaps the game would have been better if it had a little more time to bake. We’ll never know. What I do know is that, at it’s best, the game’s a frantic tactical shooter with some moments of pure fun. Otherwise, it’s just another shooter from the perspective of a hoverbike. I still would recommend this game just for the novelty factor alone. Honestly, it’s not the worst sci-fi shooter out there, it just doesn’t do much to stand out besides being a little different.
Disintegration has an interesting and innovative gameplay but it is not enough to support the whole weight of the game. It also has a repetitive campaign mode and a plot that goes nowhere. Online, which could be the most interesting mode, was born dead from the start. Still, a game to give a chance if we don't have something better to play

It had potential to be something really great but it has some odd negative mechanics that bring it down. I do hope that Disintegration is successful for V1 interactive, this studio shows a lot of promise and talent!

Disintegration brings something unique to the FPS genre and it's a blast to play. I definitely recommend trying it out and I hope to see this idea expanded further with post-launch content or a sequel.
Disintegration is the new game from Marcus Lehto, one of the creators from the original Halo. Now, we got Disintegration an interesting game that try to mix the action of the FPS and mechanics from the RTS games. However, the result is not as good as expected
