If you love Crash Bandicoot and you've been waiting years for what once was Wumpa League, there's probably just enough there to convince you that this is a good game. But it's not. It's a bad game. They shouldn't have made Crash Bandicoot into this thing, and deep down all of us know it.

Turning Crash Bandicoot into a MOBA is certainly a choice but not one that's paid off, in this paper thin platformer that has little to offer either franchise fans or newcomers.

Crash Team Rumble is a PvP Party game with a lot of potential but little to offer. There is a lot of fun to be had, but a lot still needs to be done to become a real hit. Perhaps the game will be much more worthwhile after some updates.

Crash Team Rumble is too lean an experience to foster the community needed for a multiplayer-only experience, trading on the iconography of the series to bolster an otherwise forgettable game.

The concept of a Crash Bandicoot MOBA game sounds appealing, but this fight for the precious Wumpa fruit has missed the mark. Crash Team Rumble lacks content at launch, and despite some decent gameplay mechanics, just isn't worthy of the franchise name.

Crash Team Rumble is an interesting competitive game about picking "apples" and beating the other team. It has a solid base that, unfortunately, lacks enough sauce. The small number of maps, characters, and one single mode - despite their uniqueness and differences from each other - unfortunately doesn't make up for the fact that this game fails on lack of depth and content.

Toys For Bob set out to make a unique multiplayer experience with Crash Team Rumble that's supposed to be more of a strategic multiplayer platform brawler than a MOBA. And while they succeeded in doing so, CTR feels more like a multiplayer mode for a more feature-rich game rather than an entirely new game with a Crash Bandicoot title. With more characters and modes planned for the future, Crash Team Rumble may become a bash worth playing. Still, as it stands, it's a rumble that struggles to stay fun for long.

Crash Team Rumble is fun in short bursts, and if you and your friends are looking for a new multiplayer title to check out, it’ll definitely keep you entertained for a few nights. Much of its longevity will be decided by its support, however, and while what’s here is fun at launch, it’s hard not to feel like it’s a little barebones.

Crash Team Rumble feels like a great idea for a game that still had work to be done before it launched. The singular game mode, limited maps and characters, and a small online community kept from growing due to a high price point of entry do not bode well for the future of the game.

Crash Team Rumble builds out a fun and engaging skeleton for a Crash-inspired multiplayer game; it just doesn’t have enough meat on those bones to keep the experience engaging. This is one Bandicoot you may not want to unleash.

Crash Team Rumble is a surprisingly competent online multiplayer arena game that's easy to get into and well-balanced, leading to some tense and exciting games. It's let down hugely by a lack of modes and content though, and I seriously doubt its longevity in the long term.

Crash Team Rumble is an accessible and terrifically enjoyable online platforming battler, and as more seasons of content are released, it could become a pretty essential multiplayer game. In the here and now, though, it's a bit too limited and features too little content to be anything more than throwaway fun.

Bright colors and a cartoonish style give it the typical Crash atmosphere and the music also makes you very happy. But this is not enough to keep players interested for a long time. Developer Toys for Bob is currently working on the first season of the game and that will bring more content.

Crash Team Rumble's different foundation can be N. Sanely fun at points, but annoying live-service elements and design imbalances currently limit its appeal.

Crash Team Rumble features the solid foundations for a neat gameplay loop, as well as excellent controls and decent visuals… but this is something that should have been a multiplayer mode in a mainline game, not its own thing. I actually think that this should have been the better approach with this idea, as it is fun… for a few minutes at a time. The fact it’s a paid game with an additional payment towards a season pass just adds insult to injury.

Crash Team Rumble is a solid foundation to work off of, taking what Toys for Bob built with Crash 4 and creating a new experience that can be a great deal of fun in short bursts, especially with friends, but currently lacks staying power due to a dearth of gameplay content beyond cosmetics that won't be enough to bring everyone back for more. If the game can expand in the near future and break through the live-service curse, it could very well stand as another classic Crash title, but for now it may well be another piece of lost potential waiting to happen.

This 4v4 title with matches under 5 minutes is a blast for a quick evening couch session. On the other hand, the lack of any meaningful content, variety of modes, players and other makes it harder to come back to. But with reasonably spaced-out updates and seasons filed with content, this might just be a major multiplayer glow up!

Crash Team Rumble left us with mixed feelings. Although it is able to entertain for a few hours, with its frenetic games that see the comparison between the beloved protagonists and villains of the saga, it is impossible not to notice worrying lack of content and a balance that would require a lot of additional work.

Despite lacking long-term content, Crash Team Rumble has the potential to become a multiplayer game that stands out from the rest.

Crash Team Rumble is a lot of fun, and you'll enjoy trying out the different character classes, even in single-player mode. Its pleasant gameplay and successful art direction won't be enough to keep the title alive for months if the developers at Toys for Bob don't add content soon. Despite its lower retail price than a traditional AAA, I'm not convinced that the game will work when users will regularly have to dig deep into their pockets to obtain the season pass. My advice, perhaps, is to wait for a discount unless you're a huge fan of the franchise.
