Marvel's Spider-Man: Turf Wars Reviews
Compared to the first DLC, Turf Wars is much more combat focused. Overall, I didn’t like it as much as the first DLC, not because combat isn’t fun, but it’s gotten quite repetitive and tedious. Still, I suspect part three, arriving next month, will strike a better balance overall, as it completes the City That Never Sleeps story arc.
Turf Wars is the awkward middle child of the City That Never Sleeps story DLC. It doesn't have the initial excitement of The Heist and is more or less just a set up for the final DLC, but it's still a load of fun considering we get to jump back into the world of Spider-Man.
Black Cat was a more formidable foil but Turf Wars continues to play to Spider-Man's strengths. Despite the one-note villain atmosphere the team at Insomniac managed to craft a compelling world around the conceit. With two thirds of the season pass in the bag I can honestly say that I'm invested.
I’m surprised to see that the story appears to actually be pushing forward from Spider-Man‘s ending, which already teased a direction for any future sequel.
The second DLC is a step back and Hammered is a less interesting villain with a very poor characterization. We hope that Silver Lining, at least, will be a perfect finale.

Like The Heist, Turf War is an okay addition to the overall package.
Turf Wars does a good job of overcoming some of the challenges of being the middle segment. There was enough progress to leave me interested in the conclusion, without enough to make it pointless. Even if this is good, gameplay leaves a lot to be desired. Even if it's fun to take out Hammerhead's hideouts, complete new challenges and stop various crimes, it doesn't feel like a massive leap from the main game. Sure, if you really want to play more it's nice to have, though the main attraction is story and that hinges on how much you care about Hammerhead's plan.
Turf Wars is by no means bad, it’s still really good it just takes away some of the things many people loved about both The Heist and the main story but hopefully, Silver Linings can end this DLC saga with a bang.
Whilst more Spider-Man is never a bad thing, the DLC doesn't last that long, and there's nothing really new to keep you entertained outside the story.
Marvel's Spider-Man's first DLC as part of The City that Never Sleeps campaign was an outstanding opening that has players teaming up with the lovely and deceptive Black Cat and ending with a bang. Now the adventure continues in Turf Wars where Hammerhead attempts to secure control over New York using whatever means possible. Turf Wars doesn't carry the same charm as The Heist but still delivers a sold penultimate finale with a shocking cliffhanger.
Turf Wars is a step back when compared to The Heist; suit selection has improved (the original Iron Spider is amazing), but it's extremilly short. Fingers crossed this means the last and final episode will be a grand epic finale.

Short and kinda weak DLC aimed at those who want a little more from this game. It ends with a fairly simple boss fight. The story finale awaits us in the next episode.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Turf Wars was a step down from the last release, but builds towards what could be a very exciting conclusion.
Turf Wars makes good on continuing to flesh out Spider-Man’s story.
Though the thrill of being Spider-Man has barely dulled, Turf Wars simply doesn't offer enough content, new or otherwise, to keep you engaged for any decent period of time.
As many faults as I can find with Turf Wars, it's still a lot of fun to play. Stepping back into the Spidey suit is exhilarating, and this chapter offers up some of the toughest challenges yet. Turf Wars is more Spider-Man, and while it's a lot of fun, it mostly retreads on things that we've seen or done in the main campaign without meaningful advancement. The story has a lot of dark potential, though it's clearly the middle of a three-part arc. It rushes its opening and conclusion, but does touch on some very interesting themes. We've still got one DLC chapter to go that will close out The City That Never Sleeps story arc. I'm hoping that it actually ties up some of these loose story threads, despite each DLC being available individually. More and more, it's looking like the best way to experience The City That Never Sleeps is as one big arc, rather than broken into chunks through the split release (and if you're waiting on all three to release before jumping in, keep an eye out for a giveaway from us next month).
A grey second act that ultimately sets us up nicely for a far brighter finale.
'Turf Wars' shows promise in its two hour story, but mostly sets up a more interesting third act with (hopefully) more interesting boss fights. At some points, it’s far too hard and the last fight is almost unfair. But the core of what made the main game so compelling is all still intact and is more than enough reason to pick up the DLC.
As a stand-alone chapter though, Turf Wars adds very little to this universe created by Insomniac with a shallow villain and a forced turn for a character that was handled far better in the main campaign.
A DLC that makes almost the same things as previous DLCs but being less interesting.
