More than a successful comeback, that brings many new ideas and is in no way inferior to the PS1 originals.

Crash 4 isn't just a competent sequel, it's a genuinely well-made platformer in its own right. It expands on its now-ancient predecessors in meaningful ways, and incorporates some truly lovely visuals alongside plenty of compelling and challenging level designs that manage to stay fresh throughout.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is a fiendishly difficult platformer that carries on Crash's legacy with aplomb. Though it sometimes feels like it hews a little too closely to the established formula, what it adds makes it more than just a worthwhile sequel. It's just a damn good game.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is the best game in the entire series. The level design is spectacular, the challenge we remember so much is still present, the optional content seems endless. One of the best platformers of the year.

We thought that Crash Bnadicoot would never be the same iconic character he once was : we were wrong. this fourth episode brings back every fundation of the series, twisting it with the brand news quantum masks mecanics, to delivred a strong, rich, colorful and demanding entry to the series. Rooted in the late 90's, Crash just need to discard its old precision issues to compete with the big ones of the beloved platform genre.

Long-lived, colorful, fun and complex, It's About Time conveys the return to precision platforming, where every jump is calibrated with due accuracy counts, and in which the player's skill is mainly enhanced.

As a Crash Bandicoot fan, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is everything I've dreamed of since the original trilogy ended all those years ago. It's a jam-packed, brutal platformer that expands on what makes Crash great with some really cool twists and turns. The challenge may get a little too much sometimes, but it is more than worth fighting through and proof that Crash Bandicoot is king of the platformers.

The gameplay is challenging yet achievable. It gives you the right amount of difficulty without forcing you to throw the controller at the TV screen. It runs smoothly and really is just a whole lot of fun to play.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time on PlayStation 5 is every bit the difficult, satisfying experience it was on last gen consoles. But the improved performance and new functionality make it the optimal place to experience Crash's new lease on life.

If there's one things that's certain after playing the PS5 and Nintendo Switch versions of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, it's that the game is fun no matter where you're playing it. The Switch version is great for portability whilst the PS5 provides crisp 4K visuals and insanely fast load times. It's worth a play for Crash fans and those that haven't had the joy of taking control of everyone's favourite Bandicoot.

Despite its inconsistent difficulty, Crash Bandicoot 4 is still a blast. With a focus on fun and with a heavy dose of challenge, even in it's most rage-inducing moments it can't be denied that Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is excellent. It may even be the best the bandicoot has ever been.

For the most part, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time might not redefine the game or get every detail just right but it does a fantastic job of modernizing the franchise. Story has enough going on to be invested, new mechanics offer a different take on what you might expect, costumes are fun and there is something for everyone. Even if it can be challenging at times, it's the type of experience where you can learn, improve and ultimately master, either through watching a tutorial or trial and error. So, with this in mind, if you're looking for a new take on a old platformer, it's hard to say no to Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time.

Crash 4 is an enjoyable experience that will entice new and old to the series. The gameplay loop has been designed elegantly so that levels never feel taxing, but rather feels refreshing. No level makes you do the same thing over and over again, there is a wonderful mixture of features. This includes adding new masks and playable characters that break up the monotony of playing as regular Crash. The level design and graphics alone, are enough to leave you in awe. The pros of It's About Time by far outweigh the cons making it one of the best Crash adventures.

The new Crash Bandicoot did not take the easy route and even managed to push the boundaries in a few respects. It’s living proof that some genres don’t need a forced revolution. Why reinvent something when the old ways work perfectly? It’s great there's a platformer out there such as It’s About Time.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is both a successful celebration of the original trilogy as well as a worthy follow-up. Toys For Bob has taken the essence of what fans loved about the classics, distilled and bottled it and then shaken it up. Some old issues rear their heads, and there are definitely some dud levels and boss fights, but it's a package so chock-full of content that the good far outweighs the small amount of bad. Anyone hankering for some old-school Crash Bandicoot action will find exactly that and more, and all wrapped up in one of the most gorgeous platformers I've ever seen.

Simply put, It’s About Time manages to capture the feeling of old school, challenging Crash games of old while adding a modern spin to increase enjoyability for those of us who don’t enjoy bashing our heads against a brick wall when difficulty skyrockets. It’s full of quirkiness, humour, and is a worthy sequel in comparison to Naughty Dog’s previous outings. Kudos to Toys for Bob.
