LEGO Horizon Adventures offers a different take on both LEGO and Horizon as a series, with mixed results. The charm of experiencing the epic Horizon Zero Dawn story in this family-friendly brickified way is unmistakable, with strong visuals and a fully voiced cast going a long way in making things feel epic. It's a shame that the repetitive mission structure and overall short adventure stop it from becoming something truly special, not fully nailing it as either a LEGO game or a Horizon game. Still, as far as family-friendly cooperative gaming romps go, it's polished, silly and sure to generate some laughs for the more casual or younger gamers in our lives.

I can foresee a future LEGO Horizon-themed toyline happening if this game gets loads of traction, but at the very least, this isn't poorly-made license fare. Guerilla and Studio Gobo did good work in making a co-op family game for all, and even moreso fun if you've played the Horizon games and see how they've adapted the serious storyline into a LEGO-fied concept. A fun experiment, in other words.

The existence of LEGO Horizon Adventures should do two things: make new fans and get them interested in the mainline Horizon games, and to also create demand for new LEGO sets based on this series. Beyond that, LEGO Horizon Adventures is fantastic, if not a bit weird, especially for fans who know the world and characters really well. It’s a game that has a runtime on the shorter side, but it keeps your attention, and gets to the point. LEGO Horizon Adventures is great entry point to the Horizon or even a compliment to existing fans, even if the gameplay doesn’t translate equally, you’re bound to have a great time for players of all ages.

LEGO Horizon Adventures is a visually beautiful and charming proposition that captures the spirit of other LEGO games. However, the fixed camera, linear campaign and humorous narrative may displease the most demanding Horizon fans.

LEGO Horizon Adventures is a great way to experience Horizon Zero Dawn, but it isn't the best way. That's what the recent remaster is for. Either way, you can't go wrong here, as Guerrilla Games and Studio Gobo deliver an excellent title that'll resonate with younger players and fans of the series.

“Lego Horizon Adventures” is by far the most beautiful Lego game. The world is made entirely of Lego bricks and impresses with its attention to detail and beautiful lighting. A dream come true for Lego fans. Unfortunately, the fun but overly simple combat system and the boring level design cannot keep up with the high level of graphics.

LEGO Horizon Adventures by Sony, Guerrilla, and Studio Gobo offers an overly simplistic experience. While it is pleasant and easy to digest, Aloy's brick adventure lacks the unique touches that usually distinguish LEGO video game productions. It might attract younger players to the Guerrilla saga, but it will likely fail to engage and excite the more seasoned and discerning audience. Additionally, the pricing seems off-target for what it offers. Sacrificing Killzone for such productions raises some regrets, though hopefully, it leads to dedicated LEGO kits like the one for Tallneck.

I quickly found the entire experience very repetitive and not a true representation of what makes Horizon special. Look, I'm a Lego fan. But this time around, I feel it really doesn't do the source material justice.

Lego Horizon Adventures is at its core a Lego game, but one that branches out from its usual IP stylings to add humor and a bunch of fun gadgets to the Horizon world - all while reigning it into a more condensed experience.

While LEGO Horizon Adventures is a great entry point for younger players, its more mechanically demanding battles offer plenty for veterans to enjoy. It’s moments like these that make LEGO Horizon Adventures one of the best LEGO games ever made.

Lego Horizon Adventures will find an audience in its target demographic of young kids wanting something easy to pick up and play. But a short campaign and a lack of originality hurts the finished product for everyone else.

An enjoyable story, but nothing more. A good game for parents who have very young players at home.

LEGO Horizon Adventures is a very simple game aimed at a children's audience. Despite good graphics and interesting combat, the gameplay in general is very repeated, there is no incentive to explore the maps and the dialogues are bad.

Goofy in tone and regulated in design, LEGO Horizon Adventures is an unlikely, amusing inversion of a modern classic for audiences old and new.

Lego Horizon Adventures definitely gets a lot right, but it also lacks the creative flair of its forebears. Fundamentally, it nails the style and tone of Lego, but seems to forget what it's actually used for.

Lego Horizon Adventures isn't the most interesting Lego title out there but its simple yet addictive combat and charming re-imagining of the world of Horizon makes it an entertaining experience for fans and newcomers.

LEGO Horizon Adventures offers a playful retelling of Horizon Zero Dawn, blending the iconic story of Aloy with LEGO's signature charm, humor, and style. This isometric action-adventure game simplifies the original's intense narrative, focusing on environmental themes and character relationships, providing a lighthearted, engaging experience for fans of all ages.

LEGO Horizon Adventures has left us feeling somewhat torn. On the one hand, this is a charming, kid-friendly take on Sony's popular series that successfully translates the story, characters, and combat into the LEGO realm - and with real visual polish to boot. On the other, once the novelty wears off, level design feels vacant and repetitive, almost never engaging you with the sort of platforming or puzzle solving you might expect. There's absolutely fun to be had here, especially the combat, but some fundamental design decisions let the side down.

LEGO Horizon Adventures is therefore a fun project, but limited. The glittering side of the coin is composed of a first-rate technical realization and the well-chosen light-hearted atmospheres, while the shadier one includes an extremely repetitive gameplay and a rather small amount of content. It is a game that gives its best if experienced in the company of friends, but it does not represent a big leap forward, at least from a playful point of view, for LEGO brand productions.

LEGO Horizon Adventures faithfully recreates the world of machines from the PlayStation game series, and has some fun combat. However, it is aimed squarely at younger players, and is rather brief. A fun and accessible introduction for newcomers, but returning fans will find this diversion not as worthwhile. =
