Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault Reviews
Moonlighter 2 is a good roguelite made stronger by how well its individual systems work together. Its combat, exploration, inventory management, progression, and presentation may not be exceptional in isolation, but the loop connecting them gives the game its own appeal.
In many ways, this is the same satisfying core experience as the first game. A visual overhaul and some significant changes to combat and dungeon exploration, however, make Moonlighter 2 a bigger, bolder sequel that's worth clocking in for.
Although it can get grindy and the shopkeeping aspects feel a little slow at times, Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault offers a lot of entertainment for both action-roguelike fans and cozy economic sim devotees.
The long-anticipated arrival of Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault from developer Digital Sun is definitely worth the wait, even after spending months in Early Access. The sequel is a well-polished release that strengthens the best aspects of the game, from its overall story, roguelike mechanics, and combat, engaging shopkeeping features, and worldbuilding, despite minor technical issues being a slight nuisance.
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault just does what the original already did, slightly slower and slightly less crisp, with a handful of bugs that shouldn't have made it out the door.
Will you manage to gain the wish from the Endless Vault?
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault builds on its predecessor’s foundation by drastically upgrading its combat, roguelike mechanics, and shop management systems. This laser focus on gameplay means you won’t find a deep, story-driven RPG here, but the result is a deeply satisfying experience for anyone who loves looting dungeons by day and running a shop by night.

There are many things that Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault does right, like the exploration part, along with the roguelike integration and the different paths you can take to explore every biome.
The pixelated look of Moonlighter has been replaced with an art style more befitting the sequel's shift to 3D, which well suits its variety of environments and its blend of fantasy, real life, and sci-fi themes. Enjoyers of the first Moonlighter may bristle against the changes implemented for Moonlighter 2, but what's new here has made a fan out of me. Simply put, I'm over the moon.
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is an experience similar to the first game, attempting to deliver a more modern take with a new art style and a smart item management system. However, issues with the UI, weak level design, and frequent loading times prevent it from reaching its full potential.

A textbook Early Access success story. Moonlighter 2 fixes its one real stumble, adds a satisfying ending and an endgame that keeps its cozy loop alive, and finally reaches the consoles it was born for. Bigger, but never diluted. The foundation was special; the finished game is even better.
Moonlighter 2: Endless Vault is a solid game with good foundations, but its ambition leaves it struggling to recapture what made the original so special.

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is one of those games that seem much simpler during the first few hours than they actually turn out to be. At first, it all seems to boil down to entering a dungeon, defeating enemies, collecting items, and then selling them, but little by little, perks, new weapons, upgrades, potions, patches, relics with different properties, furniture, trading systems, new routes, and multiple progression options begin to appear.

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault expands the original game’s dungeon-crawling and shopkeeping loop with more robust combat, a lively town, and a much deeper management system. It’s a true sequel that only stumbles in its introduction, which throws too many mechanics at the player all at once.

Moonlighter 2 doesn’t revolutionise its core concept, but it improves on almost every other aspect of the game.

this second chapter proves to be an excellent sequel—a title capable of taking an already winning formula and enhancing it with a host of new features, refinements, and a truly generous amount of content. The refined combat system, combined with an even deeper and more multifaceted trading simulation, makes Will’s adventure a virtual must-buy for fans of action roguelites and light management games. Minor issues with late-game balance and the inevitable repetitiveness that sets in over the long haul do little to detract from the quality of this fine production, which is visually stunning and great fun to play.

Moonlighter 2 is particularly enjoyable for players who like action RPGs, roguelites, dungeon crawlers, inventory management and shopkeeping. Its biggest weakness is that the central run-loot-sell-upgrade loop can become repetitive, but the addictive progression and excellent shop mechanics make it easy to keep coming back.
Moonlighter 2 doesn’t push the boundaries of the genre, but with its intuitive mechanics and the relaxing aspect of running a shop, it offers an accessible entry point into the world of roguelikes.

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is a worthy sequel that retains basically everything that makes the first game wonderful, while adding a little extra flavor to the experience to justify a follow-up.

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is more of the same, on a base level, but that’s not a bad thing. The cycle of dungeons and sales, with minor reflection on capitalism, worked then and continues to work well. The improvements to this, as evidenced by the jump from the Pixelsprite of the first game to the 3D animation, also feel meaningful. A good early access campaign can mean all the difference for a roguelike as it grows with its audience, and clearly the time was not squandered. If you want a game all about making money, this is well worth your money.
