Formula Legends is a quirky and unique racer that celebrates the decades of Formula One. Sure, it isn’t on par with the offerings of the official games that arrive annually, but it does serve as a solid alternative that can be fantastic fun. It can be occasionally frustrating, but that’s more of a skill issue on my part. If you don’t mind the fact that there is no licensing or online multiplayer, then it’s a vibrant and fun experience that will give you a good amount of enjoyment.

Formula Legends is a game that pays tribute to the legends and history of Formula 1. It has no licenses, but that doesn't matter; fans of this sport know the circuits and their drivers, even if they're named Ferdinando Alfonso.

Formula Legends is neither a pure simulator nor a conventional arcade game. It is a hybrid that manages to capture the essence of Formula 1 through the decades, with gameplay that combines technique and accessibility, and a design that embraces nostalgia without resorting to direct copying.

Formula Legends manages to capture the nostalgia of 90s arcades, with fictional licenses that entertain and recognizable tributes to the history of Formula 1. The driving, despite some uncertainties in the physics, offers a light and engaging experience, perfect for those looking for immediate fun rather than realistic simulation. The story mode is the heart of the game, but the lack of secondary content and especially the complete absence of multiplayer diminish its longevity.

Formula Legends is a charming tribute to one of the most famous categories in motorsport. With gameplay that blends simulation and arcade elements, numerous unlockable drivers and teams, and different eras with their own unique challenges, the title is a great choice for fans of the category, as well as serving as a fun racing game for the Switch and Switch 2.

Formula Legends suffers from some pretty annoying structural issues that prevent it from shining as a lighter, yet still challenging, alternative for motorsport enthusiasts. The idea of featuring cars from different eras is welcome and well-explored, as is using Grand Prix races from each era to showcase the evolution of the sport itself. However, a racing game that doesn't hone your driving skills needs to urgently return to the pits for repairs.

Formula Legends is a nostalgic blast of arcade racing wrapped in a motorsport history lesson. It’s not trying to be Gran Turismo, it’s more like Micro Machines meets F1 with a dash of era-specific flair.

Formula Legends is a driving arcade game that works well as a tribute to F1, but it has drawbacks that weigh down the experience. Its control issues, inconsistent AI, and some technical glitches weigh too heavily on the experience. It's a charming title, but it needs polishing to reach the podium.

Formula Legends is a wasted opportunity. A lovely artstyle, an interesting driving model, a lot of love for the history of Formula 1 are felt through and through, but the inconsistent physics, poorly balanced AI, various glitches and a complete lack of multiplayer end up severely hampering the experience.

Overall it’s hard not to love what 3DClouds has done with Formula Legends. It’s arcade feel mixed with simulation elements makes it great for people who prefer either racing style and its attention to detail clear love from F1 is appreciated as a sports enthusiast. While it can be held back a bit by its limited number of tracks and custom options, Formula Legends should be in every racing fans rotation.

Formula Legends might be worth it, but only if you're willing to overlook its flaws for the sake of an interesting concept behind the game.

Formula Legends is a slightly glitchy and unpolished racing game that still manages to entertain thanks to an interesting premise, an addictive gameplay loop, and a truly ungodly amount of content to unlock.

Formula Legends immediately captivates with its distinctive visual style and surprises with its depth of gameplay, which is much richer than expected. However, its demanding nature, rigid artificial intelligence, and collision management detract from part of the experience. Each session leaves you with the impression of having experienced a daring and innovative title, but also of having faced frustrations that could have been avoided. Nevertheless, it will certainly find its niche audience, although it would have been interesting to make it more accessible to newcomers.

Formula Legends is a delight, though replayability and the absence of multiplayer lobbies leave room for improvement. Whether you’re in for long sessions or quick races, it’s an easy game to pick up and enjoy. Its accessible physics, classic arcade spirit, and unique take on F1 make it worth recommending to players of all skill levels.
