Sprawl Zero is a great time if you’re looking to just kick back and shoot some bad guys. It won’t win any awards, and it certainly doesn’t break the mould, but it’s simple yet satisfying. It controls brilliantly, and it’s a lovely hit of shooter nostalgia.
Sprawl zero might take inspiration from a few of the 2000s best shooters, with a huge amount of guns that somehow all work and feel distinct. Its story is a bit obtuse, but it's easy to ignore that when you're slinging crates at baddies and blocking tons of bullets with a force field... or even pulverizing them with your fists.
SPRAWL Zero places players into the shoes of the cybernetically enhanced super soldier known as FIVE, tasked with infiltrating and destroying a futuristic techno cult to stop it from spreading its radical ambitions in a world already on the brink of disaster.
So, to come back to the saying, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.” That’s certainly the case with SPRAWL zero, and that’s okay. As long as MAETH can handle living in the shadow of giants.

If you miss shooters that let excellent gun feel carry a focused linear campaign, SPRAWL zero is an easy recommendation. SPRAWL zero borrows openly from the classics, but its disposable arsenal and gravity glove give it an identity of its own. Once the shoot, yeet, pull, and repeat rhythm clicks, putting it down is the hardest part.
Reminding me of some of the finest boomer shooters, SPRAWL zero is a gift direct from 2001. Some of the most satisfying FPS gunplay and movement of the year, as well as an entertaining range of powers make this explosive title a blast from start to finish. Capturing the visual and audio style of the Y2K era wonderfully, on top of a better than expected story, Maeth’s shooter is more than a trip down shooter memory lane.
SPRAWL zero is a shooter that combines the creativity of a 2000s game with modern innovation. On the surface, it is a solid shooter with intense combat and a grimy world that welcomes players to tear it apart. Underneath is a callback to the good old days when there was variety among our shooters, as everyone wanted to do something different or unique instead of rehashing the same title each year.
