Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival Reviews
Hellraiser: Revival is at its best when its horror gamification takes a back seat, providing a world equal parts depraved and disturbing, scary and thrilling.
Hellraiser: Revival is a faithful adaptation of the universe created by Clive Barker, combining an oppressive atmosphere, grotesque visuals, and genuinely tense moments with a structure heavily inspired by games of the genre, most notably Resident Evil 4 Remake. Although the puzzles are simple and the difficulty decreases considerably as the player masters its mechanics and abilities, the campaign manages to hold its own thanks to the excellent setting, intense chases, and creative use of the Lament Configuration. It's not revolutionary, but it's an interesting and authentic survival horror game for fans of the genre and, especially, of Hellraiser.

Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival deserves credit for taking a major horror icon and breaking it free from the now-tired formula of asymmetric multiplayer, building a brutal, cohesive, and completely unfiltered single-player adventure around it. The melee combat and the Genesis Configuration work well, the Cenobites are handled intelligently, and the technical aspects leave a lasting impression, despite a few rough edges. Anyone looking for a horror game that isn’t afraid of censorship will find this right up their alley.

Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival is a disturbing single-player horror experience with satisfying puzzle mechanics and a memorable Labyrinth, though it suffers from frustrating combat encounters and a predictable story.
While this isn’t for the faint of heart, Hellraiser: Revival is a game made for horror fans.
Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival is driven by its uncompromising mature atmosphere, the oppressive transformations of the Labyrinth, and the excellent combat synergy between gunplay and the abilities of the hellish puzzle box.

Hellraiser: Revival makes the most of Clive Barker’s world and proves that you don’t need to shave off every rough edge to adapt a horror property into a video game… Much like the property it’s based on, Hellraiser: Revival balances its debauchery with concepts of holy beauty and pushes its audience to shift uncomfortably in their seats.
Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival is a true love letter to survival horror fans, sparing no effort to deliver one of the most grotesque, disturbing, and visceral experiences of 2026. Despite its numerous qualities as a horror game, the title has a few caveats, mainly due to enemies with predictable behavior and minor performance issues that can compromise immersion at certain moments. Even so, these problems are far from overshadowing its main strengths. Hellraiser: Revival stands out as one of the greatest representatives of the genre and the best survival horror of 2026, even managing to surpass other major highlights like Outlast. An essential and must-play title for everyone!

Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival is a wonderfully faithful adaptation that captures the franchise’s grotesque beauty through outstanding atmosphere, brutal gore, memorable Labyrinth sequences, strong combat, and Doug Bradley’s return as Pinhead. Frustrating stealth sections, awkward melee dodging, limited inventory space, weapon durability, and a few repetitive boss encounters reveal its rougher edges, but the overall experience feels remarkably close to playing through a genuine Hellraiser film.

Clive Barker’s return to the franchise is felt through every aspect of the game. I applaud its unapologetic hedonism, gore, and violence. The gameplay is a blast and offers new mechanics to make it feel fresh, while still offering an old school system that feels comfortable and familiar, without being boring.
The parts in the Labyrinth are eerie and atmospheric, while the zombie shooting doesn't fit the source material. The mix of Silent Hill and Resident Evil works though and I can look past flaws like the irritating controls and enjoy Hellraiser - Revival.

Hellraiser: Revival is stunning. Saber Interactive has nailed an original story worthy of the name Hellraiser, which should solidify it as entry number 12 in the Hellraiser franchise.
Hellraiser Revival delivers excellent atmosphere, extreme body horror, and satisfying survival horror systems. Its reactive merchant, rewarding exploration, and challenging bosses give it substance beyond the shock value. Uneven animations, demanding weapon maintenance, and occasional interface frustrations hold it back, but they never outweigh how effectively it pulled me into its disturbing world. For horror fans who enjoy the first-person approach of Resident Evil 7 and want something that fully embraces Hellraiser's brutality, this is an easy recommendation.
Hellraiser: Revival takes an old, cheesy IP and turns it into a solid-assed video game. Seriously, there's a ton of butt cheeks, boobs, and more for the sexiest sickos out there. It isn't wasted, as mostly fun gameplay mechanics back up a decent story. At $40, it's a no-brainer for one looking to delight in the bliss of suffering.
Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival captures the franchise’s atmosphere more consistently than it delivers satisfying combat. Exploring the Labyrinth, hearing Doug Bradley return as Pinhead, and using the Genesis Configuration were the highlights of my experience. The environments and supernatural abilities give the game an identity that Hellraiser fans will appreciate. Frustrating combat, inconsistent AI, and chase sequences that lose their tension make the recommendation more complicated. The progression-blocking bugs I encountered on Nintendo Switch 2 are a further concern, despite how impressive that version can look. Dedicated Hellraiser fans willing to tolerate uneven combat will find things to enjoy here, particularly in the atmosphere and lore. Based on the build I tested, however, I would wait for confirmation that the Switch 2 progression issues have been resolved before recommending that version. Hellraiser: Revival knows how to build a nightmare. Its strongest moments come from exploring that nightmare, while its weakest come from fighting through it.
Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival fully brings the world of the Cenobites to life for the first time in a survival horror game that honors the franchise's history without relying solely on nostalgia. Armed with the Genesis Configuration, an intense atmosphere, and plenty of body horror, it explores just how far human obsession can go.

Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival is a bloody, uncompromising single-player survival horror game. Saber blends combat, clever puzzles, and sadistic terror to finally do the Hellraiser IP justice on the first outing.
Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival might borrow heavily from some of the best horror games on the market, but it combines those familiar ideas into something that is still enjoyable from beginning to end. It doesn't reinvent survival horror, and some of its individual systems have absolutely been done better elsewhere, but as an adaptation of Hellraiser, it understands exactly what fans are going to want to see.
